Torrid is selling a mini top hat. (clicky-link!)

::boggles::

On the one hand, Torrid. Selling a mini top hat. What?

On the other hand, that's not a bad price for a pre-decorated sinamay mini top hat. I am considering buying one (and covering it with fabric), because I don't have a mini top hat in that particular size. (I have smaller and larger ones.)

But ... Torrid. Selling a mini top hat. I am perplexed.

Oh, I know they *used* to, but that they've been trying to position themselves as a little more mainstream lately. But even with them carrying the occasional gothy outfit, seeing a decent-quality mini top hat there is surprising.

I do agree that it is an odd find there.

I really dislike the 70s disco stuff they had at the Northgate store 6 months ago. It was Horrid.

Totally agree with this. It's nice if they have managed to find some sense of style again...

Let me know when I should poke you with a stick and tell you to get to writing! How can I buy your book and read it if it isn't done yet?

No pressure. I just want to hold your book in my hands.

"Around the world and two snaps up?"

God, pardon me while I dry-heave.

Cute little hat, ghastly marketing.

I didn't even bother reading the sell-text, because I assumed I would sprain my eyeballs with rolling them.

Mini top hats are everywhere...here's a (not great) photo I took of a couple in Tokyo Disneyland.

I'm trying to decide how to feel about that. On the one hand, it's cute in an "overdone, big sister of Hot Topic stealing her clothes" kind of way.

On the other hand, I'm...just not sure. It almost feels like the hat itself is trying too hard (and the sell text was scary).

That hat doesn't suck at all. It appears to be made of real dyed and woven straw, seems like a cute size, and isn't decorated all that differently from how i might do it myself. What i'd really like to know is where they get the little black straw hats from and whether i can get my hands on a 'blank' one to put some birds and junk on.

Prom?

Its...cool?

I would like to get a look at it in the shop first.

Straw?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Well, it's the same sort of very fine straw that all the "fascinator" mini top hats from UK the are made from, so probably not dreadful.

Hey, I sent you email a little bit ago. Did it get to you?

Yes... your vests are coming...

I am in the middle of typing back to you..
