Seen all over my FL:

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything [within reason] : latest movie watched, last book read, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal if you are so inclined.

I will put one caveat on this: I won't discuss politics, sorry. Oh, and one other caveat: I will TRY to answer things, but it may take a bit.

Shallow Fashion Details! I am MUCH HAPPIER with today's outfit than yesterday's. Everything fits properly, for one. And stripes! Stripes are always good. Details behind the handy-dandy cut tag, for ease of scrolling past by the disinterested.

  • Black ballet flats with silver skull & crossbones ornaments.

  • Black tights.

  • Black knee-length Dolly Bustle Skirt from Retroscope fashions, customized with a b&w striped ruffle at the hem and a b&w striped heart appliqued on the left side of the center skirt panel. Worn, of course, over knee-length petticoats.

  • White Victorian-esque blouse with a high collar and lots of lace ruffles.

  • Black waistcoat with notched lapels and black buttons.

  • B&W striped armwarmers with narrow black lace trim, made from the same fabric as the ruffle & heart on the skirt.

  • Jewelry: the usual giant silver rings, the usual antique mini pocketwatch necklace, and a large silvertone heart locket with a black bat and tiny pink rhinestone in the center of the heart. (Yes, I customized a locket.) The locket is hanging from pink & black striped ribbon, and is tied with a bow at the front of my collar.

  • Hair is pulled up under my usual giant top hat (the one with lots of feathers and a big bow made from b&w striped satin and pink lace).

  • Makeup: YSL Touch Eclat concealer, translucent powder, MAC "whistle" and "don't be shy" pink eyeshadow (okay, fine, "don't be shy" is actually blush), black gel liner, DiorShow mascara, and MAC "verushka" lipstick.

I'll try to be better about having The Husband take photos of me. I'm *horrible* at taking photos of myself.

I'm glad you might post pictures more often; I love pictures. My head swims reading descriptions-only. If you had written a play about what you were wearing I would very much enjoy my old costumier's habit of building a design from clues and time period and character, but when there is a "right answer" in actuality it only makes me wish I could see the outfit.

This is not to say that I don't enjoy knowing interesting facts about an outfit, which is enahcned by the picture. when I can see it. Where it came from, how much customizing it took, that there's a secret pocket...etc. That is the best kind of fun. :)

Fourth-ed! Please post pics of all your amazing outfits. All you really need is a tripod. I used to bug my Hubby to take pictures of me all the time too until I finally broke down and bought one. :)

I've been more-than-idly thinking of buying a tripod. I just need to see what sort I need for my camera, and how freakishly expensive they might be.

a really cheap solution for a small camera http://www.instructables.com/id/Quick,-cheap,-and-easy-tripod/

and I can personally vouch for the GorillaPod as being all sorts of handy for travel etc. http://www.joby.com/

Neither takes the place of a full size tripod of course but might be useful.

p.s. Consider this my vote for more photos of the SFD

We bought ours at Best Buy for about $30 bucks. They have some at Target for about the same price. :)

Hmmmm, what don't you blog about?

Do you and [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage have a favorite restaurant? Or other "getting out of the house" place? There, that's a nice safe question. :D

Me and mine spend way too much time at home - so I love to hear what other people do! :)

sharing with the class

I think you should post more stories from your childhood. There are thousands, and I know that. And they are all marvelous. I think you should share them. I have only heard a few, either from you or your parents. I know there are plenty more.

Everything else I can think of that you don't post about is not the sort of thing I would ever ask or expect you to post about.

I think you should talk about sexism in the music industry, myself.

Seriously, does anyone who reads your blog actually skip the SFDs?

Blog challenge

I need your help - Due to my terrible memory, I am forgetting some of the amazing and famous folks we met at various Cons that we worked together- especially Chicago Comic Con's - can you post anyone you remember?

And I ALWAYS read SFD's!

hmmm -- it would be interesting to hear your take on working in corporate america -- not so much from a gothic perspective (you already cover that grandly ;>) but from the perspective of how it works and what you think of it.
