Of Gently Refusing Gifts, and of Reality TV.

A huge bouquet of thank yous and gingerbread bats are owed to the Finishing School of Flail and [livejournal.com profile] staxxy for being splendid beta readers. Now if all of you could go forth and tell people that a new lesson has been posted, that would be wonderful.

Re: The Amazing Race goth couple, you could have added that it's also perfectly acceptable for goths to "run around in the scorching heat in Africa." We don't spontaneously combust like Spinal Tap drummers. Some goths quite enjoy travel to exotic places, ehem.

I've only watched a couple episodes (waaaay behind on TiVo), but that couple is one of the nicest on the race in a long time, actually.

Agreed with this. I saw that as a two-part question, with some young or sheltered goth who has the idea that we only ever sit in the dark bemoaning the woe of existence being utterly shocked that goths would ever go out into the world. I think you might have fodder there for another column, J.

Sparkle skulls! Wondrous sparkle skulls!

Though the Halloween leftover plastic skull that's tucked in the corner of my windshield watching the road ahead makes me happy.

Oooh, I can't wait for the sparkle skull article.

Do you happen to still have any Gothic Charm School buttons left? The one I've been wearing on my winter coat for a few years now was sadly lost this past week on an excursion to Philadelphia. I'm quite sad. I would love a new one (or two!) if you have any! I could... erm... send you... something... in return.
