The OldeSkool a.g.f text rundown of the SFDs is here. That is, if you haven't read them already.

You do look a bit like a governess today.

Today, I got the compliment "Oh, what a lovely Halloween purse." "Thanks," I said, "But that's my normal purse." The resulting double take and quizzical look was both irritating and amusing.

Ah yes, the double-take and confused look. I know them well.

I have not forgotten about lunch! I think sometime next week I should have free time; how does Thursday look for you?

I have to ask, do you ever wake up in the morning and think, "I wish I could just wear slacks and a shirt to work today"?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Er, no. I can safely say such a thought has not crossed my mind since I was employed at a place with no dress code. :)

I was wondering if the annoyance of having to reply to endless "You're not dressed the way you usually are!" was ever more of a motivator rather than "What incredibly nifty thing shall I put on today?" I admire your true gothness.

You have a secret life as a khaki-slacks-and-polo-shirt-wearing spy, don't you.

HA! I've seen what she wears to flop around the house. It's fancier than most people 'round our work wear to the office. Heck, she doesn't even own joke slacks. She stares at my trousers in confusion.

Oh my. This reminds me of Tim Gunn's closet when he said "I only wear t-shirts to clean the house in." And his "t-shirts" are of course lovely and impeccable.

She gardens in bloomers.

Okay, so, usually, she wrangles my kidlet in said bloomers while I garden, but before the arrival of the Goth Daughter, she gardened in bloomers.

Gardens in bloomers?!?!

I do not know how else to phrase this, but that has just made me squeal with joy. And do hand flapping. That is just so adorable.

What, doesn't everyone garden (and wrangle kidlets, and do housework) wearing bloomers, stripy socks, and gothy baby tees?

Purtiest stern governess in the state.

I like that shirt on you, even if I'm allergic to menswear on myself.

The lace jabot is a nice touch!

And, your boots. It goes without saying, but they are wonderful.

It cheers me up to see you dressed up for work. Just when I was feeling especially tired of the rat race & wondering why I don't just wear a sweatshirt like everyone else -- you've reminded me that dressing up even just to go to work helps one feel better.

So cute. I love that waistcoat, and that shade of pink looks smashing on you!

*sniff* I miss shoutfit.

you'd be horrified at what I wear to work...*I'm* horrified at the sweat pants and hoodie styling that I've had to adopt for practicality sake...awful!!!

Send more pics, it cheers me up no end that someone is flying the flag.

Love the Jabot

and I really like your hair down my the way.
Even I have been getting the: Its not Halloween comments lately, and I am no where near as elaborate as you in my self styled freak wear.

But usually I get comments on the hair color the most.

What I find funny, is when I have pink hair and pink glasses and pink makeup. They go: You match! And I want to say, well DUH! but I don't...

I think it's the glasses that add the governess touch-- it's a fabulous outfit and you wear it well.

And looking at your skirt reminds me-- I have a beautiful black knee-length skirt that is from a few sizes ago. I only had opportunity to wear it once, but I couldn't bear to get rid of it. It's organdy, with a self-petticoat. Interested?

Beautifully governessy! I love the boots more than I can say, but really the entire outfit is a win. I love when your outfits look like complete, darkly perfect little stories, tales told in fabric instead of words.

I think you need to tell Disney you're avaliable for a Mary Poppins remake. You're so scary-cute; much more what I think she should have looked like than Julie Andrews did. Plus, you pull off wearing hats much better than she did (even if you don't have one on in this picture.)

I think it's funny that my daughter just picked up a ruffled front blouse and a black sweater vest to go over it for work (they have a black/white dress code and she's attempting to goth it up slightly), I should send her this picture to show her how it's really done.

It does warm my heart to see people still take the time to dress up, and pull it off fabulously =D

I love the waistcoat and blouse; I wish you would do that look more often!
