Ow, sinus migraines of varying intensity for four days. Dear Powers That Control The Weather, please stop waffling and just make it cool and overcast, okay?

In spite of the sinus migraines, I've had a good weekend so far. Saturday was spent rampaging through thrift shops and craft stores with [livejournal.com profile] weaselmom. Lots of good conversation, with the bonus of a good thrifting day! New jackets and tops and books and jewelry, oh my.

Sunday was the Day of Sewing Projects, where I customized and tailored my new thrift store goodies (which involved making a LOT of pink taffeta covered buttons), and sewed trim onto my new skirts from Retroscope. Sunday was also the day of picking plums with [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix, and hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] tolkiencub while I replaced buttons on some of his jackets. (Not, however, with pink taffeta covered buttons. I think that would make his head explode.)

Today is the Day of Writing. Not only do I need to work on a new GCS column, but also a book review, and practicing reading a specific column out loud for an upcoming interview. (On Friday, myself and the fabulous Allyson Beatrice are going to be interviewed by [livejournal.com profile] ocvictor on his Internet radio show. Yes, I will post a clicky link.)

Even if S&B happens tonight, I'm sadly not going to be able to make it. Too much stuff to do before heading back to the office tomorrow. Which, I suppose, means I should stop noodling around LJ, and get back to writing, huh?

Mmmm, cool and overcast, I could do with some of that.

I don't know what one breaks for good performance on the radio, but whatever it is, do so!

Hmmm, I was going to show you what thrice-indigo'd hair looks like, at S & B. It's NOT shoe polish black. But it's a luminous ebony. The indigo basically gives brown hair a cold glaze, turning it translucent brownish-black to black. If I want it gleaming ravenswing black, I may have to try henna first, then indigo, but I'm a little scared of getting anything orange near my hair. Just for me, I think I will stick with the plain indigo, because it looks very natural, but it is definitely different. It brings out the "black olive" coloring around my eyes, making their brown really look like a color instead of a non-color.

But you're not going to be there, so maybe I'll skip it this time.

You really should see what indigo does to brown hair, though. If only to file it away in the big book of such things.

Tank you for da buttons!

The coats are fab. Silver and black - yay!

And the talking was very much appreciated. Let's just say Healing Is Occurring. *whew*

*hug*
