stroppy_baggage and caliban1227 laughing at that understatement.) So! Today I dressed to amuse myself even more than I normally do. Yes, today is when I give thanks for the software industry's lack of a dress code.
Why yes, I am QUITE pleased with this outfit. And yes, I'll try to get someone to take a photo of it.
In other Shallow Fashion News, Shoutfit is still down. There's a part of me that wonders if it's down deliberately. The assorted things I've found online about the start of Shoutfit suggest that the people behind it were hoping to be absorbed/purchased by one of the big fashion media publishers; the Shoutfit userbase becoming increasingly weighted with Goths, Steampunks, and other fans of non-mainstream and DIY looks probably worried them. But it's only a small part of me that is dabbling with that conspiracy theory; there's no need to line hats with tinfoil yet.

- Pale pink fishnet tights.
- Black high-waisted circle skirt that has pink screenprinted swags of ribbon and skull bows all around the hem, worn over pink petticoats. (The skirt was originally part of a halter dress by Lucky13, but I realized that me + halter dress = unmixy things, so I turned it into a skirt.)
- Black square-necked blouse with lace overlay.
- Black cotton Victorian-esque military jacket, worn partially open. It has a mandarin collar, and two rows of pink taffeta buttons running down the front. Oh, and a pink taffeta heart with black bat patch on the upper left sleeve.
- Pink glass pearl earrings, a pink glass pearl choker, a black glass bead necklace with a pink & black skull cameo pendant, my antique mini pocketwatch necklace, and the usual rings.
- Hair pulled into a high ponytail and secured with black lace -festooned ties, and a mini pink & black tricorn from Peacock Blue Designs perched at the crown of my head, tilted to the left. (The tricorn is a pale pink base, with black lace trim, pink and black feathers, and a pink and black cameo. As always, Fiesty Diva at Peacock Blue did a fabulous job on it.)
- Makeup: YSL Touch Eclat; a light dusting of Aromaleigh "metamorphosis" finishing powder; MAC "Burnin'" lipstick (the perfect burgundy, why is it a limited edition? Whyyyyyy?); and full-on MAC Barbie eyeshadow. "Whistle" (pale pink white) on the browbone and lid, "Don't Be Shy" (cotton-candy pink, which is actually blush) on the innner and outer corners, "Mothbrown" (shimmery greyish brown) on the outer corner and lower lashline, black Liquidlast liner on the top lashline, and lots of black mascara.
