My antique pocketwatch necklace fell on the floor tonight, and the front frame with the crystal popped off. Nothing broke, I was able to reattach the frame with no problem, and the watch seems fine. But I'd still like to take it to a watch repair store and have it looked at. It's a family heirloom, and means a lot to me. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to go?

In other news, Shoutfit is still being buggy. I want my Shallow Fashion Details networking fix, dammit.

I'd try Tiempo (http://www.tiempowatch.com/) on Capital Hill.

Which reminds me I really should take the clock I have that was my grandfather's there to see if they can fix it...

there is a watch repair store on 20th, just below market, in ballard. They have always been lovely to me when I have stopped in.

There is also a marvelous store in the Dexter Horton Building on the 3rd avenue side (between 2nd and 3rd on Cherry, downtown).

Those are the two places I would recommend.

Ballard Time Shop (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/news/business/small/fam.html)

I think this is the one Staxxy is talking about.

Owned and operated by the same family since 1925. I took a friend's antique watch there for substantial repairs. What a wonderful experience!
