Dear Powers That Be (Weather Control Division):

I'm sure you're getting lots of complaints right now about the grey skies and the rain, so I wanted to make sure I said thank you.

*******

Over the weekend, I finally hit the point with some writing where I felt confident enough to send it to a couple of beta readers. Of course, I am now fretting slightly that the writing will come back completely covered in comments and strikethroughs, but I'll just keep trying to convince myself that those worries are baseless paranoia.

*******

Hey, Shoutfit isn't letting me log in, and the contact mail I tried to send them bounced back as undeliverable. Hmmmm. Has anyone else had problems with Shoutfit today?

I'll try to post photos for the SFDs to Shoutfit tomorrow, if the site actually lets me log in.

  • Black ballet flats with sparkly skull & crossbones buckles. ($11 at Ross! Thank you, mainstream fashion, for deciding that skulls are, like, so cy-ute!)

  • Black tights.

  • Black knee-length full skirt with a black taffeta ruffle at the hem, worn over pink petticoats.

  • Black velvet Victorian-esque mandarin-collar jacket from Newport News, customized with corset lacing with pink ribbons in the back (for a better fit); large pink taffeta-covered buttons for the front and the cuffs; and a pink taffeta heart with a bat inside sewn on the upper left sleeve.

  • Black lace cravat/collar, tucked inside the jacket.

  • Silver filigree skull & crossbones brooch pinned to the collar of the jacket.

  • Antique mini pocketwatch necklace, actually worn as a pocketwatch with the chain running across the front of the jacket. (The chain is secured by safety pins inside each pocket.

  • Black velvet mini tricorn, worn over my hair pulled back in a low ponytail and secured with a black & pink lace festooned hair tie.

  • Makeup: YSL Touch Eclat, translucent powder, MAC eyeshadows in Vex (a grey-toned mother of pearl shimmer) and Mothbrown, black liquid liner, lots of mascara, and NARS Chandernagor lipstick.

  • The usual collection of giant silver rings.

Now, back to spell-checking a gazillion files. Oh, the glamorous editing life.

Shoutfit looks like its having issues.
Its not letting like 4 people I know in to it today.
Its a new site so it might be having some sort of "Too many people at once" thing that some site like it get when its just starting to have a great deal of people jump on it.

Those shoes sound awesome. I'm always looking for interesting flats. I've never heard of Ross, is it a department store?

I'll happily take this weather over the super hot sunny weather we've been having. Maybe this is the weather Mr. Bean has been waiting for? I hope so.

I was actually very happy--I woke up to a pounding rain, and a breeze stirring the tree outside my window, so pretty sound and movement. I like hard rains...and love thunderstorms. :) So yes, thank you weather peeps!
