I'd actually be interested in your thoughts on this as well . . . I've found myself in the awkward position of being forced to shop for a dress to wear to Dad's funeral, because nothing I own feels quite appropriate/respectful/etc., despite the fact that most of my wardrobe is black (If I had a high-necked historical-styled blouse, I'd be fine, but most of my daily summer wear involves a fair amount of skin and/or tattoo visibility, and I've gained too much weight to fit into my work clothes. Gah!)
