Firstly, a HUGE thank you to [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre and her spouse for all their hard work in helping us reclaim our back yard. It had turned into a meadow, and it probably still would be pretty meadow-like if it weren't for them. I am now on-call for any favor you may need, ever. (And I apologize if Princess Tickybox Squeakaboo is still singing the "Ducks go quack quack quack!" song. I didn't realize she'd latch onto it quite so enthusiastically.)

BPAL Dilemma: I have a bottle of the very Limited Edition Crumpet Rebellion, from the Phoenix Parade event at C13. It doesn't work on me AT ALL. (It smells like stale kettle corn. Ew.) While I know there's a market for it on eBay, I don't want to go that route, because that would be kind of against the whole spirit of the Phoenix Parade and why Beth created Crumpet Rebellion in the first place. What would be perfect is if I could trade it for a couple of bottles of Beaver Moon or Pink Moon 2005, but I don't know if I'd be able to find anyone who wanted to do a trade like that. [livejournal.com profile] coulrophobe? [livejournal.com profile] brumbjorn? Any ideas?

Shallow Fashion Details:

  • Cupcake pink-with-black-trim leather pointy toe flats.

  • Black micro-weave fishnets with little dots.

  • Knee-length black ruffled skirt with a bustle-y collection of ruffles in the back, worn over knee-length pink petticoats. All the ruffles on the skirt have been trimmed in cupcake pink satin ruffled trim, for extra floof and pinkness.

  • Black lace faux-Victorian high-collared blouse, with a pink & black skull cameo brooch at the neck.

  • A fitted jacket in black cotton eyelet, with pink buttons. (I'm particularly proud of this jacket, because when I bought it, it was two sizes too large and kinda shapeless. I tailored it into a cute hour-glassy jacket that fits correctly over my floofy skirts.)

  • Jewelry: Antique miniature pocketwatch necklace, pink glass pearl earrings, the aforementioned skull cameo, and the usual rings.

  • Hair down and no hat, because I am still reveling in my new haircut. (Shoulder-length, with some layers around my face, but the traditional batwing-shape bangs.)

  • Makeup: YSL Touch Eclat as concealer; a smidge of YSL Perfect Touch foundation on my nose; MAC "whistle" (pale pale pink) all over my eyelids, with MAC "don't be shy" blush used in the crease (and yes, I know it's a blush, but it's the perfect shade of candy pink AND safe to use on my eyelids); black liquid liner on the top and bottom, TooFaced Lash Injection mascara, and NARS "Scarlett Empress" lipstick.

  • My Cute! New! Purse! that I finished customizing over the weekend, which is a vintage A-frame style handbag in cupcake pink vinyl. It is now decorated with a large silver and black bat brooch and a black silk bow.

Additional New Lyrics: "Crows go caw caw caw!"; "Cats go meow meow meow!"; "Dogs go ruff ruff ruff!" and a couple other weird ones that I can't remember, but are probably Paul's fault.

Hee! Okay, then I don't feel quite as bad for making up a new song for her. Um, if she starts singing "Monsters go raar raar raar!", that's my fault too.

I don't have an BPAL to trade, but Crumpet Rebellion works faaaaaaabulously on me, & I'd love to hoard another bottle of it. Anything I can pay you or barter or hunt down or craft for you in exchange? Think on it & let me know, if you don't find a better offer :-)

while i appreciate the in-depth clothing description, I'm very visual. Picture, please?

If she does, there had better be YouTube.

Any chance I could smell the Crumpet Rebellion before you send it off to be with someone new?

Loverly! And I so need you to teach me how to properly apply liquid eyeliner. I'm hopeless with it.

It looks fantastic. Frames your face well. And I adore your pink cameo choker.

"Ferrets go bup bup bup!" which is almost like bip bip bip!

Cute hair. Maybe one of the BPAL LJ groups would have people wanting to trade?

Judith is looking for a distributor who carries the
button blanks for
the Handy JR button machine from the Handy Button Company.
And she would be happy to trade some trim for parasols too.
Can you help her with this?

Thanks for coming to my birthday!
HUGS!!!!!

yaeh, i think someone on Sinandsalvation would trade two bottles of either of those scents for crumpet :)

From: [identity profile] kambriel.livejournal.com

I don't have extras of either of those scents, but I'm sorry to hear it didn't work on you. I *love* my Crumpet Rebellion ~ everytime I'm wearing it (which is quite often), and Curse walks in, he says, "Something smells good". I always laugh and tell him what it is. It's gotten hilariously repetitive :)

If she doesn't start singing it, can we teach it to her in a couple of weekend? Or, really, just the one week, actually.

Please?

From: [identity profile] shoindiematrix.livejournal.com

Aye, that is part of why I am timid at buying from them. I am not a very good job of matching a scent to my cinnamon.

I saw fabric in London that made me think of you - black and baby pink lycra stretch knit...in wide stripes. Bought a couple of metres to make a slinky dress in, but I'm going back in July if you want me to grab more - I can always post you a cutting...even though it's a stretch it has all manner of interesting potential!

[livejournal.com profile] staxxy referred me here when she saw me lamenting my lack of Crumpet Rebellion in my LJ earlier today. I don't have full bottles to trade, but if you'd be interested in imping out your bottle of CR, I could decant a couple imps of Beaver Moon and up to three of Pink Moon '05 in exchange for whatever amount of CR seems appropriate...
