Deathrock-y Victorian-esque fabulousness. Plus a pink & black striped corset!

Some day I need someone to help me assemble a Miss Haversham from beyond the grave! style of outfit/makeup/hair. Every time I play around with it myself, the whole thing veers into Crazy Bag Lady territory.

That's more along the lines of the steampunk/victorianesque stuff that I can do. I don't do neat and prim well. I can do layered and ripped though.

I don't really know you well, but, from the sounds of it, are you a seamstress?

From: [identity profile] lilmartini.livejournal.com

Heh, no. I used to sew, but I've never been a seamstress. I lack the patience it requires. I pull out the sewing machine every once in a while to see what I can do with it though.

Makes me feel real sad, because I can't even come close to the stuff there.

I would be more than happy to help you in this endeavor. But i think you know that.

Ooooh, fun stuff!

I worry about the slashy layered look. I worry that things will fray Too Much and eventually become useless and unwearable.

Probably must need a very careful placement of tulle to get some of those skirts to behave.

Sigh, in my copious free time....

in my experience, safetypins fix everything. And the more frayed it gets, the more deathrock it is. i love that :)

OH MY GOD!!

WANT!!

By that, you can guess that I hadn't seen it already. I apparently don't belong to enough fashion journals!!

Oh, wait. I didn't scroll down far enough. Yes, it was posted all over the place, and rightly so! I could see that post alone for the next 2 days and remain happy.

This stuff makes me so jealous!! I wish I had the talent to mix mediums like that, and make even structured things look unstructured...So I will just look and enjoy...and be green with envy ;)

You are she who posts temptations! :0 )
If you want to work on Ms. Havisham we should talk since I want to build one as well. Maybe we can find a weekend if I come up to Seattle.

Not particularly related to the topic above, but I am wrapping up the credits for a book in which your likeness appears. How would you wish to be credited?

Well, heck. I can't get that second link to come up at all. Will try from home, because I really want to see a pink and black striped corset...

I love the little flappy bat graphic in the background of the grey ensemble!

I so want the jeans with the garters on them. A.Dorable. I mean, I love the corsets too, but I don't live a life that's particularly suited to corsetry.
