Ugh

Okay, which one of you gave me the plague? I have the chills, I'm achey all over, and I have a wonderfully consumptive-sounding cough. Needless to say, I'm not moving from the couch today unless I absolutely have to.

(And because The Universe has a mean sense of humor sometimes, [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage is feeling under the weather too. Please don't let us become The Household of Plague, because that would suck.)

Wow. So that's what they mean when they say "a plague on both your houses"...

Feel better. I've had plague a few times this year and it's a really bad strain of it. Drink lots of tea!

Oh, how completely wretched! There is definitely something going around, and it seems to hit fast and hard. Let's hope it clears up just as quickly.

Oh, no. Feel better.

Allergies have slain me today and, unless drugs start working much more miraculously than they have so far today, I am couchbound as well. Getting up only for more tea and to burn the tissues piling up around me.

The Graver Liberation Front does not claim responsibility for this act. You two take it easy.

The plague hit me late on a Friday. I was sick as the proverbial dog for about 10 days. After day 7, it moved from my sinuses, throat, and joints into my eyes, if you can imagine. It was like having pink eye, but without the itching. NyQuil helped greatly even when the codeine prescription failed to help me sleep. I've been getting steadily better, but it's been nearly a month and I still have an annoying occasional cough and a little chest congestion.

Wendy caught it, but she got over it in about 4 days (I hate her so much). It took Vinney about a week to get over the worst of it, but he also had a lingering cough. His worst symptom was the chills in the first couple of days. I got lucky and missed those.

Hope you and stripy bagpipe get through it fast.

For me it started a week ago wednesday and was just an achey, don't-feel-well-head-hurts and progressed to the full blown plague by Saturday. NOTHING put a dent in it, even Afrin was only good for a few hours. The generic nyquil helped enough to let me get some sleep.

I highly recommend lots of tea, water and soup.
