But who knows? One of you non-local types may be able to help.

I'm looking for a particular style of ankh pendant. But first, let me set the Wayback machine ...

Back in the 90s, there was someone locally who made sterling silver replicas of the ankh from the movie The Hunger, complete with a little silver tube sheath that fitted over the (not at all sharp) blade. The last time I saw them for sale around here was at the Metro before they remodeled. So, what, 4 or 5 years ago? I haven't seen them since.

Yes, I already have one of these ankhs. But I lost the sheath to it long ago, and I'd like to get a second one. I have no idea where to find one.

Let me be clear: what I'm talking about is not the Alchemy Gothic Ankh of the Dead (clicky link!). The one I'm looking for is similar in style, but doesn't have hiroglyphics on it, and is a more streamlined, elegant design. Another clicky link; scroll down the page for the screencaps from the movie.)

Extensive Googling has resulted in ... nothing. Everyone has the Alchemy Gothic ankh, but I can't find any references to the one that I want. Yes, I know this is yet another cheese-tastic clichéd gothy trinket, but I really do want one with a sheath. Any help finding this particular pendant would be Greatly Appreciated.

Re: I win Teh Intarweb?

Sorry pumpkin, you don't win Teh Interwebs. That's still the dratted Alchemy Gothic version. But you still win a kiss the next time I see you!

If everything else fails I would recommend contacting Mark Defrates, who does staggeringly gorgeous custom work. If anyone could concoct one for you, it'd be him. Presently I'm slobbering for one of his unicursal hexigrams.

I received a "Hunger" ankh for a wedding present in 1997, designed and made by Henri David of the self owned jewelry store "Halloween" on 1329 Pine St. in Philadelphia.

Do contact him as he is familiar with what you want and will design your heart's desire. (215) 732-7711

Jesse Skellington from Cat eye or Cats eye metalworks made those. I lost my sheath as well and have replaced it several times. The last time I had to reach him, I looked it up in the book. He charges as much for a sheath replacement as he does for the whole Ankh.

Yeah, Jesse makes these, and some cool steel roses!

Used to be the anhk was how I knew who the cool people were... ;)

Ah-ha! That is EXACTLY the information I needed! Thank you, sweetie!

I have nothing to offer in the way of ankhs but just wanted to say that I miss you and hope you guys are well! Have not seen you online much (and we haven't seen anybody IRL for days...maybe weeks!).

I'm glad you found a source

If it doesn't pan out for some reason, I have a friend who has one and I can ask her where she got it. (She may have just gotten it from The Metro since she used to work there. But by the same token it's quite possible that she knows where the store bought it.) I've envied it several times.

I need to get one of those pendants. The Hunger is my favorite movie, after all.
