Thanks to a rather enormous miracle in the form of my work minion (who is amazing beyond the telling of it), there is nothing set to an editing status at work. We have zeroed out on topics waiting to be edited. To put it simply, we rock.

(Of course, this is not going to stop my boss from having minor freak-outs about things she really doesn't need to worry about. But I'm prepared for that.)

eBay. Aaaah, eBay, that place where a lot of my spending money goes. Apparently waist-length fitted black velvet jackets with rows of shiny buttons were in fashion last year in the UK, because now there are oodles of them being auctioned off for very low prices. Since I have adored that type of jacket for years and years, I'm finding many many things I want. In fact, the selection is good enough that if a jacket has brass buttons, I won't bid because I don't want to be bothered with changing them. But "black velvet military jacket" has now been added to the regular eBay searches, along with "BPAL Pink Moon", "BPAL Lump of Coal, and "velvet Victorian vampire". What? Trust me, "velvet Victorian vampire" turns up some very nifty things if you click "Search title and description".

Shallow Fashion Details:

  • OldeSkoole GAF black patent-leather pointy-toe buckle boots (9 buckles on each boot).

  • Black tights.

  • Black ruffled knee-length skirt worn over a pink petticoat.

  • Black ruffly high-collar faux-Victorian blouse.

  • Black waist-length velveteen jacket with two rows of silver buttons going up the front. It closes with three hidden hook & eye closures on the front.

  • Decorative cuffs made from black ruffled georgette & stretchy fabric. (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] maiaarts!)

  • An antique silver & quartz intaglio cameo pin on the collar of the blouse. (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps!)

  • Hair down, with no hat or lace-festooned tie or anything. My co-workers are confused.

  • The usual makeup: a light dusting of Aromaleigh powder, eyeshadow in Pink Freeze with Shadowy Lady (both MAC) in the crease, liquid liner, black mascara, and LipInk lipcolor in a combination of Plum and Cherry.

  • The usual rings, all of which I need to get re-sized soon.

Yes, I look like I escaped from the video for the current MCR single. But I looked like this LONG before I became a swoony fan-girl of theirs, so I'm okay with it.

Zero topics returned! Yes!

1) Looking at you with your hair down somehow seems... illicit.
2) MCR?

1) You're not the only person that's said that, which I find amusing.

2) My Chemical Romance (http://www.mychemicalromance.com/). Pretty boys with guitars, eyeliner, and a strongly-developed sense of theatrics.

If I think of you hair down, yes, it is a end of evening and there are sleeping ensembles.

Heck, I was confused for a moment.

Ooh! And does Velvet victorian vampire bring up any lovelies for males? ^_^ Strangely enough, on Amazon, I found that International Male has some lovely items for the boys (namely a similar jacket to the one you're mentioning, that they're advertising as rocker style, as well as another that is paisley and looks very Romantic indeed).

^_^ Ooh! Once the holidays are over, and I have a job, I hope to follow in the Lady's footsteps, and begin to have many lovely things to wear.

I must say, you always give me ideas, and, because of you, I have never given up my dream of looking beautiful.
