She brought in the August issue of the UK Vogue especially to show me the article on The New Darkness. Yes, an article about autumn's gothic makeup trend.

... the article actually talks about a couple of products I want to take a look at. Lancome Color Fever lipstick in Violet Shocking, for one. (EDITED TO ADD: And of course, that color is only available in the UK. Most vexing.)

(I *swear*, I will eventually have time to post something other than short burblings about makeup, fashion, or shiny things I covet. Eventually.)

But, but.....

I *like* your fashion & makeup posts!!!!!!

Ohhhhh. Will have to see if I can find a copy. Is it available in regular bookstores, do you think?

B&N and Borders always carry the UK fashion magazines, so you shouldn't have a problem finding it. I'm just going to scamper down the hall to the color copier and photocopy the page ...

i can pick a tube of the lancome stuff up for you if it's there next time i go into town :)

Aw, you darling! Thank you for the offer, but I'm probably going to just buy it from one of the big cosmetic re-sellers on eBay.

cool :)

i think i'm going to have to find it anyway, just for the shiny name...

Nope, mostly because I don't have a business. What would I vend? :)

I still haven't decided if I'm going to C*13, for various reasons.

I like your fashion and makeup and shiny posts. It brightens my day at the evil empire, especially to know you are in the heart of the evil empire. heh.

i get so amused at the 'gothic trends' that happen almost every fall..
does the world secretly want to be like us or *what*? :P

Hee

I love reading your LJ because of these posts. It is fun!

I secretly love make up and have spent many hours pondering the make up section of the local drug store. You see, I crave color and escapism. Make up provides both. I can usually get out of the store without purchasing anything but glittery, little girl lip gloss. heh

Well, just let me know if I should send you some lipstick ...

Have you taken a look at Nars' fall collection? The lipstick in the collection (Tamango?)is quite lovely. It's not quite as dark as you were mentioning wanting, but it does have a nice muted reddish hue- I use it more as a lipstain than lipstick. It's somewhere between plum, berry, and brick if you can fathom that. The website makes it out to be much more purple that it is in actuality. I'm in love with it. It might be too light for you, but worth a look.
