We're looking for new kitties. Of course [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage has been searching every cat adoption site he can find (and plans on doing that until we find the right 2 cats for us), but I am a strong believer that announcing my wishes to the Universe in as many ways as possible is a Very Helpful Thing. Yes, making posts on LJ counts as letting the Universe know.

What Sort of Cats We are Looking For:

  • EDITED TO ADD: I can't believe I forgot to list this. We want boy cats.

  • A bonded pair. Either litter mates or raised together. We want cats that get along and like each other.

  • No more than 3 years old.

  • Either two black (all black, or with a white star on the chest. Oh, and preferably with green eyes), or one black and one grey.

  • Large. While tiny cats are charming, I prefer large cats.

  • Short-haired.

  • Friendly and affectionate with people.

  • Smart.

Yeah, it's a pretty specific list. But, those are the sorts of kitties we're looking for. We found two boys who were perfect and darling yesterday, except for the fact that when we took them both into the visiting room, they very decidedly Did Not Like each other. Which is a pity, because they were both sweethearts.

Flora and Fauna - both black, young, related, and with only minor motor difficulties!

Oh, they're very sweet! But we're actually looking for boy kitties. (And now I've edited the post to say that.)

Your current icon cracks me up every time I see it, btw.

Ah.

I'm tempted, but I don't have the space for three kitties. Though Squish would like other 'differently pouncing' friends. Maybe I should see if there's a support group.

And thanks for the note about the icon - I made it myself right after they won.

Hmm. We have a litter under our house right now, but a) not socialized, b) dunno about the markings and c) not close to you. The mom is black with white markings, though, and the dad is grey.

There's also the possibilitynear-certainty that these boys you met would bond, since they're young, if they find themselves together in strange circumstances.

Also, if you get a bonded pair and bring them home together, neither of them will bond as thoroughly with the humans as with each other. Whereas strangers all, feline and human, will be more open to closeness with each of the other beings.

In any case, may you find your destined masters sooner rather than later.

I have to agree about the probably bonding. Boy kitties are much better about eventually bonding than are females. There's nothing so mellow as a neutered male cat, but cats are always a bit shy about meeting other cats, even in the best of circumstances.

I've had two neutered boys in a row.

They were/are the most neurotic, high-strung beasties I could imagine.

And Jilli, I'm not so sure "smart" is a quality you *really* want. The smarter they are, the more creative they are about chaos... ;)

Oh, I know that smarter = more creative ways to cause trouble. Believe me, I know. But, while I love Trinian, I would like to own cats that were obviously smarter than a squirrel.
