I wanted to show off the gorgeous icon of Dread Beastie that
seresempre made for me. She's the genius behind my LJ background & style, and is very talented at that sort of thing.
In a few days, I'll probably post about our search for kitties, how we've realized that we don't want kittens, but young cats, and how visiting shelters make me yearn to turn into a Crazy Cat Lady. The short form is, we haven't found the right two cats to bring home yet, but we're going to put a lot of effort into looking for them.
(If I could give homes to every one of them I saw this weekend, I would.)

Pete is scouring petfinder.com, and has pretty much decided he's going to look every day AND possibly call shelters that aren't on there.

However, it's a good thing that the adolescents are being looked at. Everybody loves kittens when they're 1 lb and bouncing on your chest at 5am, it's less endearing when a 12 lb teen cat does the same thing. (Squish, I am looking at you.) The adolescents have all the energy of a kitten, but the body of an adult cat, and they can be challenging to raise at that age. Thus, they're much less adoptable.
