Don't expect to see me around much for the next few weeks, Snarklings. One of my work deadlines is looming in a menacing way, so I'm going to be working late for the next few weeks. Not to mention I need to find some time this week to write a new lesson for GCS, and get started on a Certain Project. I'm trying not to freak out and hide under my desk about all of this, but the temptation is there.

However, my boss (who is a Brit, and a very cool lady) just left a couple of ginger-cream cookies on my desk, so at least I can console myself with cookies and the knowledge that I really do work with a good team.

Shallow Fashion Details!

  • Pointy-toe black velvet flats with big bows.

  • B&W stripy tights.

  • A knee-length black chiffon petticoat.

  • A knee-length black, scoop-necked, princess-seamed dress with a full skirt and black lace trim on the hem, that buttons up the front with about 30 teeny-tiny pearl buttons.

  • A black lace choker with garnet drops, "garnet" crystal beads, and a silver pendant that is the family crest of Vlad Tepes.

  • A silver ankh on a long black silk ribbon.

  • My enormous, very jingly charm braclet.

  • The usual rings.

  • The usual top hat, worn with my hair down (the better to show off the burgundy and pink extensions that [livejournal.com profile] imflying put in for me).

  • Aaaaaand the usual makeup, consisting of a light dusting of Alima mineral foundation, shimmery white eyeshadow (with some pink in the crease), black liquid liner, black mascara, and Vamp lipstick.

Those of you that have known me forever and ever might have read that list and thought "Hey! That's almost exactly like one of her favorite outfits from the mid-Nineties!" Yes, yes it is. I was at the Capitol Hill Value Village last week, and made squeaky sounds of glee when I found this dress on the rack.

Okay, back to editing. And eating ginger-cream cookies. Try not to get into too much trouble while I'm busy.

I envy the ginger cream cookies, the boss who gave them to you, as well as the fashion glee.

I love that about Value Village. ;) I always love finding things that it seems were left there by the faeries just for me. :D

Oh! Also, just to let you know, I'm going to be doing a pre-order for hair ties tomorrow or Friday and I have pink micro seude, pink crushed velour, and am going to get pink lace to mix in with hair ties. I know you had been interested before in some pink and black ones but I didn't have a lot of pink then. Just to let you know. :)

I have to say that it's just not fair to disappear for two weeks after you get burgundy and pink hair extensions that *some* of us will not get to seeeeeeeee! (Uh, how long will they last? I know nothing of extensions.)

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Oh, you'll get to see them. Extensions can last for up to two months, as long as I don't get fidgity and try to take them out.

Choker envy. Of course, your neck is probably smaller than 16".

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

I have a strangely small neck. The last time I measured it, it was something crazy like 12.5".

Which causes the head to wobble erratically when taking speed-bumps. : )

You lead me into temptation. We should talk about it when my budget and your schedule allow.

I am currently planning to hit the beadshow weekend after this, want to come with?

From: [identity profile] sistawendy.livejournal.com

An hour each way. Hrm. If it's all the same to you, I'll decline, at least this time.

To tell you the truth, the sort of choker I had in mind was a Wide Black Swoopy And Maybe Dangly Thing. Yes, there are a lot of them around, but they're preeety. Their ubiquity is all the more reason to get a unique one, I suppose.

can ya be more specific with what ya mean about the choker? That describes about... um... 30 or so designs.

and yeah, I can make those too. :P

seriously, I can make anything but latex/rubber ones (at this point, who knows what the future may hold)

I'll be more specific after I a) think about it some more and b) get back so I can talk & sketch in person.

YAY for good groups! I'm glad you got into a good one; I was feeling minor guilt, as my group is sucking a bit right now (except Julie, Julie is aces).

And you looked smashing the other day on the way to the bus. You did know that was me in the hot red car, right?

(Did your ears burn Easter weekend? J. and I were talking about you, conspiring ways to get you up to Fort Flagler next year. I might be able to be convinced to share duplex space (oh, twist my arm to not stay in the freakin' barracks).

Pictures of the extensions? I know I'm never gonna see 'em in person. :)

well if you are stuck there, I am glad they give you cookies.

herm... let me know if you need me to run down and babble about nothing more thought provoking than the makeup exploitations of our favorite 80s video stars. I can even make found of some sort.

just give me a poke.
