I now know it is Spring. Not because of the abundance of green leaves, flowers, or pollen, no. The sure sign that my brain has decided it is Spring: I am vaguely dissatisfied with my hair, and want to Do Something to it.

(Cue patient and long-suffering sigh from [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage)

I think I want colored streaks. Dark burgundy and cotton-candy pink, to be specific. I suspect extensions are in my future, I just need to talk to [livejournal.com profile] imflying and figure out which would make me happier/be easier to deal with: synthetic hair or real hair.

I left work early yesterday thanks to a migraine, and my productivity hasn't returned yet. Of course, that is also due to the fact that my Shiny! New! Laptop! was delivered right before I left for work. Don't wanna be here, editing things. Wanna be at home with new computer!

---

[livejournal.com profile] djeternaldarkne, I don't know if I'm going to make it out to Goth Night tonight. It depends on a lot of different things. Sorry, hon.

---

Nope, still missing my motivation. In a perfect world, today would involve a nap, some time to play with pretty clothing, and a fancy tea party. Yes, that is what today should include. Pity it won't happen.

no kidding. I could use a week of fancy tea and dress up days.

I want to live in your perfect world. I want a nap, and to dress up in pretty clothes and have a tea party. I want to try on stuff from your closet, which is far more interesting than mine.

oh well, back to real-world work...

I will join you in the lack of motivation department.
I still have to go home after work, clean house, do laundry and pack to leave tomorrow... and fill up the mp3 player with lots of goodies for the travelling portions :)

You and I totally need to meet one day for a fancy tea party.

I just made both a dress AND a skirt that make me think of you. The dress, because of the princess seams, and the skirt, because it is pink and frilly.

I assume that you will be attending Convergence 13 here in Portland, next year?

Oh man, I totally want to have a tea party in my yard among the tulips. If the grass grows in enough, think we could plan something for the 29th or 30th? And would you come?

I've been feeling this too (hence the now white streak in my hair). You can get dark burgundy on your own hair with minimal damage, just FYI, without extensions, but not pink.

I have a set of those colors in hand colored human hair and I like them a lot better than synthetic ones. They blend with my hair much more naturally. It does strike me as funny though that I've been adding those colors to mine. ;D

So, how difficult is it to add human hair extensions? And how expensive is colored human hair?

It does strike me as funny though that I've been adding those colors to mine. ;D

Hee! Oh, that is funny.

I bought white human hair wefts at Western beauty supply on 23rd and Jackson, and dyed them with Special Effects myself. I had to add a lot of toner with the Cupcake pink to get it icy pink, but it worked. Then I made darker ones with Atomic Pink and Blood Red (I didn't have any Cherry Bomb).

I cut them up into little streaks after that and then put them in my hair with the latex hair glue. They'll stay for about a week or two and then you can put them back in or add different colors. ;) I can put in the human hair streaks myself, but not the synthetic ones. The human hair is priced mainly on length, so it would depend on how long you wanted it. The stuff I have is about 8-9" long, and was about $25. They go up to a couple feet long, but those are pricey.

It's pretty easy and you don't need very much. If you buy a pack, you end up with a lot of extras that you can dye different colors and use again or add them to hair pieces. You can put them in at your whim too, which I like, because I get whims. ;D

If you want to do it that route, lemme know and I'll go up there with you on a Saturday sometime and help you out.

today was definitely a play with pretty clothing and have a fancy tea party day.

I felt all cute today. Mostly useless and spacey, but cute. *sigh*

I must have pms

I was pretty happy with good quality synthetic hair extensions. They're easy to take care of (just don't condition the roots), the color never fades, and they're less expensive.

OTOH, i'd 2nd having [livejournal.com profile] girlgoth do them for you if she's available to do so.

Oh, and a fancy tea party... i don't think i'm hosting any events yet in May... we should plan one.
