I will post a more detailed review of the Sisters of Mercy show later, but yes, what everyone else has said is true: the fog machine was cranked into overdrive, thus hiding the band, and the sound was crap. However, thanks to a wacky chain of events, I was standing on the side of the stage when they started playing "Dominion/Mother Russia". And I was ushered past security to stand in front of the barricades for a couple of songs. So while the show was nowhere near the best it could have been (and that is an understatement of gigantic proportions), *I* had oodles of fun.


(Yes, the rumors are true: Andrew Eldritch now looks like an older, drug-ravaged Spider Jerusalem. Which yes, means he also looks like a drug-ravaged elder brother to stroppy_baggage. I find this amusing AND unnerving.)

Okay. I'm glad it wasn't just my show. I mean, I'm not - it sucks that the show wasn't fantastic - but I was starting to wonder if the techs in SF are just incompetent.

And really, it was *your* good night that made the whole thing bearable for me. Your getting to go to the stage, and looking so fabulous--it made a big difference. Plus Shawn's endless patience and support and ferocious stewardship of our space.

Yeah, I enjoyed myself even though I couldn't make out most anything that came out of Andrew (Lyrics or speaking). I got to see a lot of people I hadn't seen in ages.

The Seattle show sounds a lot like the Pdx show....Oh hail Sister of Fog. It was still incredible to see them live, I can now die a complete goth.

haha..i'm pretty sure the fog was cranked up so we couldn't see his wrinkles.
i didn't like the way the old songs were arranged..
half the time i didn't recognize half the songs until they were almost done!
