(To celebrate being able to actually POST to LJ)

  • black poooointy toe flats

  • black & red stripey stockings

  • black bloomers

  • black chemise

  • burgundy overbust Victorian corset (worn purely as underpinnings)

  • black super-full petticoat

  • blood red velvet circle skirt

  • black velvet custom made jacket by BlueJay: high mandarin collar, thirteen shiny black buttons down the front, princess-seams, a skirt that has a scalloped pointy batwing hem, and belled sleeves (with the same batwing theme) that have a blood-red satin underlayer that peeks out about 3" below the velvet (and also follows the batwing theme)

  • hair up in spikey buns

  • usual makeup, blood red lipstick

  • I love love LOVE this jacket. BlueJay did a wonderful job of translating my absolutely dreadful stick-figure drawing into a beautiful Gorey-esque jacket.

In Other News - Dear Powers That Be; I'd prefer NOT to work late again tonight. Thank you.

Because of overtime and The Husband being ill, I didn't make it to Grind last night. No big deal.

... except I really really want to go dancing. But sadly, the only options on weekends are the Vogue and the Merc, both filled with smoke and no guarantees that I'd hear anything I'd want to dance to.

I want to go out dancing on the weekends, dammit. I want someplace to go that will give me an excuse to dress even more extravagantly, someplace that plays music I like and either has no smoking or good ventilation.

I need to win the lotto so I can open my own club.

(Sorry, I'm obviously channeling my inner mopey-goth 16 year old.)

But I still want to go out dancing this weekend, and it just isn't going to happen.
