Ug. Hot.

Yes, I know that "hot" in Seattle weather terms is nothing compared to "hot" for say, Chicago or Kansas. But I'm still cranky about it.

Maybe tomorrow I'll go to the wading pool at the park near the house; I'll get to wade in nice cool water, and the neighborhood kids will have fun running around and whispering about "the wierd lady".

I had homebrewed absinthe over the weekend. It was nice, and has only strengthened my desire to buy real absinthe. I must get a job, because the list of "things to buy when employed again" is getting longer.

Speaking of employment, I had an interview on Monday. *I* thought it went well, but I thought my last two interviews went well, too. But keep your fingers crossed for me anyways gang - I should hear something from Recruiter Boy by the end of the week.

Icky sticky hot.

It's the same temperature outside my body as it is inside. We've had too many days of heat now and the nights don't get significantly cooler. At our house we rely on an influx of cool night air (live by the woods) to keep cool during the day. Right now I'm kind of glad we don't have weasels, because I always used to worry so much when the temperature hit the low 80s. The wading pool is a great idea. We don't have anything like that out here on the frontier. We have the Sound, which has sharks and stinky seaweed, and we have lakes, which have duck poop and liver flukes.

The weatherguessers claim it will get cooler toward the end of the week, but what do they know? What on earth will you wear to the club if it stays hot? What will I wear?

I don't think we should dole out too much of our precious sympathy reserves for people in Chicago and Kansas. Nobody made them move out there anyway. They should have stayed here. Let's spend our sympathy on each other.

Hot and crabby,

Re: Icky sticky hot.

If it stays this hot on Thursday, I may be daring and NOT wear a corset. Of course, that's entirely up to my mood and how quiet the chorus of body image demons are being that day.

Wading pool. Yes, I think I must go there. Wading pool ...

I still have *some* sympathy for those that Moved Away - see, if we're sympathetic, they'll miss us and move back that much faster.
