Cheering thing: I have an interview. It's a lovely day. I have recived about thirty compliments in the last week for either my style-sense or my haircut, or both. (Oh, wait: that's cheering to me.)

You're better than your job, your work environment, or your day. You deserve better, and you'll get it.

I loathe it too. That's why, when we moved I insisted that I be back in a corner. I claimed it was cause I wanted the skylight - which I did, but I REALLY wanted to be where no one was looking over my shoulder all the time.

I'm facing someone (there's no wall or barrier between our monitors), people can walk behind me, and my annoying cow-worker will be about 18" away from me, on the other side of a half-wall. It's going to be a never-ending round of cranky.

I'm sorry you are stuck without proper cover. Open workspace is great for only a very few types of work, other than that. It sucks the big one :/ Hopefully you'll get to establish some fortifications or something.

Cheery thing #1: One of the "commercials" in A Prairie Home Companion was for tongue paint. Flash a white tongue at somebody and they won't want to sit near you. Available at the Fearmonger's Shop, serving your phobia needs since 1947. How many cans would you like me to pick up for you?

Cheery thing #2: S&B, 10/10. Feathers on hats, plus whatever alexiarnps has planned.

it is on oct 26th at the vogue, and this year it is also a benefit for the Louisana Disaster Recovery Fund.
