Today is going to be awful. Really, really, unpleasant and cranky-making. Please to be telling me cheering things.

(But no clicky-links, please, as I'm going to have to keep my web-surfing to a minimum.)

...

Have I mentioned that I LOATHE the idea of an 'open space' work environment?

TP drew a little picture of the star constellation I'm named after in my copy of Thud. (The longer story of it's on b.org, when and if you get to catch up.)

And Where's My Cow was, in fact, signed to Princess Ticky-box.

Um, most everyone at the awards show last night showed a proper appreciation of the event and dressed up with extra flair? It made me happy, and I think Gothic Miss Manners would approve.

"Debbie Does Dallas" will be a hit.

I hate hate hate situations like that, too.

Cheering thing: I have an interview. It's a lovely day. I have recived about thirty compliments in the last week for either my style-sense or my haircut, or both. (Oh, wait: that's cheering to me.)

You're better than your job, your work environment, or your day. You deserve better, and you'll get it.

Oooh, yay interview!

Oh, and I may need to pick your brain about your previous job. I'll explain when I see you.

I loathe it too. That's why, when we moved I insisted that I be back in a corner. I claimed it was cause I wanted the skylight - which I did, but I REALLY wanted to be where no one was looking over my shoulder all the time.

I'm facing someone (there's no wall or barrier between our monitors), people can walk behind me, and my annoying cow-worker will be about 18" away from me, on the other side of a half-wall. It's going to be a never-ending round of cranky.

Cheery thing: I am heading out to get my tickets to Bangkok right now, and you should come to Bangkok with me!

From: [identity profile] rev-blacky.livejournal.com

I got the ticket!
$780, round trip, leave Seattle Nov 2nd, return Nov 29th!
Let me know if you want the number of my travel agent so you can get your ticket!
:)

well, for what it's worth I think you're fabulous...

...and I've just been asked to do a fashion show for Recycle for Cornwall Christmas event...yeah!!!! Doing 12 historically inspired outfits based on silhouttes from the Industrial Revolution to present...all made out of reclaimed/recycled materials...

I'm sorry you are stuck without proper cover. Open workspace is great for only a very few types of work, other than that. It sucks the big one :/ Hopefully you'll get to establish some fortifications or something.

I don't know if it is a happy thing, but we are doing an alt ritual at the ATC this weekend. Council of the Animals. And I will be High Priest that night. And I am right now asking if you would like to go. After all you could speak for Bunnies.

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

I would consider it, but I'm going to the spa this weekend. Somehow, that sounds more relaxing than going up to the ATC. :)

Cheery thing #1: One of the "commercials" in A Prairie Home Companion was for tongue paint. Flash a white tongue at somebody and they won't want to sit near you. Available at the Fearmonger's Shop, serving your phobia needs since 1947. How many cans would you like me to pick up for you?

Cheery thing #2: S&B, 10/10. Feathers on hats, plus whatever [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps has planned.

Cheery thing #3: No matter how crowded your office space gets, you're still an explosive device.

Ooooh I hate that too. No privacy. Not right. You should bring in some lovely Japanese screens. Or an ornate tent to put up over your desk and say it's part of your religion or something.

Cheery thing:

We will frolic through the Haunted Mansion MANY TIMES together on Halloween.

i don't know that this is cheery, but i was wondering if you would be interested in judging the pageant again this year?

it is on oct 26th at the vogue, and this year it is also a benefit for the Louisana Disaster Recovery Fund.

we would love to have you!
what do you think?

Here's hoping the day wasn't all bad. And tomorrow: better!
