I have, over the years, collected quite the stack of pages I've gleefully cut out of magazines. Clothes I like, interesting images, all that sort of thing. I've been idly thinking of gluing them into a large scrapbook (or two or three, because when I said quite the stack of pages, I wasn't kidding). The only snag is that some of the pages have images I like on both sides. Should I use clear page protectors for those and put everything in various three-ring binders? Are there nice, decorative three-ring binder-type things for such a purpose, or am I stuck with the boring, standard binders as found at office supply stores?

I suspect that this will become my default craft project for Stitch & Bitch nights, once I have an idea how to go about it.

Make color copies of double sided items. They make binder sets of things that have black pages with black covers and posts of various lengths that unscrew so you can add pages.

::smacks head::

Color copies! Of course.

However, you lost me at the posts of various lengths that unscrew so you can add pages part. Wha? I need you to explain that to me, oh keeper of the craft brain.

Go to an office-supply store and ask them to show you "post binders."

Drat! I was going to say "Make color copies," but you beat me to it. *shakes fist*

Page protectors and three-ring binders are what I've been using for just such things. And no, I haven't found anything non-standard and non-boring in a three-ring binder--but that just gives us one more project with which to beguile ourselves. :-) (I like this as a S&B project. I might get more of it done that way. Whee!)

Okay, Alexia's idea is better. ;-) But I'm probably too lazy to change my M.O. right now.

If you buy a real upscale scrapbook. . .

. . . they do indeed have posts, rather than rings, for holding the spine of the book (and the inner edges of all the pages together. You unscrew them to add more pages!

So, my suggestion (if you don't want the plastic-pocket-protector things) is to glue a healthy strip of card-stock to the inner edge of the double-sided pages you like, and punch the holes for the posts in the card-stock. That way, you won't lose the stuff in the inner margin.

those basic boring binders can also be seen as "starting points". It's amazing what some glue and fabric and rhinestones can achieve. ;)

I make cloth covered photo and Scrapbooks that are three ring. I can make you one, but i would need you to pick out the fabric to personalize it. I also am the scrapbooker, I have 2 plus a few more I need to start, and or finish.

Just let me know:Jessletter@hotmail.com or WraithWatcher01@Yahoo.com or you can get a hold of me through Blatherbits; either way...That and you and I need to discus a purple parasol for me.

There's a good selection of good (but sometimes pricy) albums at Light Impressions (http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com). Their emphasis is archival stuff, but they've got a bunch of different nice-looking ones besides the boring ones.

Re: OT question -- pardon intrusion

Why yes I would. :)

Last year, I was contacted by the real Miss Manners' lawyers with a 'cease & desist' order, because what I was doing with Gothic Miss Manners was awfully close to copyright infringement. The new site (Gothic Charm School (http://www.gothic-charm-school.com)) should be live, with all the old (but re-worked!) articles and new articles, in early October.
