Sunday night, I fell asleep some time after 2AM. So I figured I'd have no problem falling asleep last night.

Silly, silly me.

I finally fell asleep somewhere around 5AM. I crawled out of bed at 9:30.

I feel wretched.

But! I bring you Shallow Fashion Details -- The Sleep-Deprived Special Edition!

• Black leather pointy-toe flats w/ buckles on the side


• Black tights


• Ankle-length A-line skirt made from velour with 1" b&w stripes, and lace trim on the hem


• Black silk v-neck top w/ lace neckline


• Black stretch velvet princess-seamed button-front overdress, just above knee-length, with black faux fur collar, cuffs, and hem


• Hair pulled back into a low ponytail, and my usual top hat


• Choker made of 4 rows of jet beads with an antique cameo locket (the cameo surrounded by jet beads)


• Makeup: a dusting of Aromaleigh powder, lightly-applied white shimmer eyeshadow, lots of black mascara, properly-drawn-on eyebrows, and Vamp lipstick. And my glasses, because there was NO WAY I was trying to wear contacts today

Yes, I managed to draw on my eyebrows with no mistakes, on under 5 hours of sleep. Someone stamp my GothCard, okay?

Beware, the page design is HORRIBLE. And blinky. Ugh, ugh, ugh, but still probably worth it for this (http://www.moondancebellydance.com/skirtgypsyburgundy.JPG) skirt for $80. Cotton gauze, so a bit sheer, but still! 25-yard hem!

Oh, and one other thing about the 25-yard skirts: I suspect the Foofy Skirt o' Doooooom that I bought three years ago at a MedFest is one of that breed. I will dig it out and try to remember to wear it next Monday so you can take a look at it at S&B.

That's super impressive for 4 1/2 hours of sleep. I can relate to insomnia. With me it would typically be something like fall asleep at midnight, wake up at 3 am, never go back to sleep. Not so much of a problem for me these days. But I used to think up 2 outfits before bed in preparation: a really simple casual one in case I got no sleep, and a better one for if I slept well. Of course NONE of them were or are ever anywhere near as fantastically fabulously wonderful, creative, and elaborate as yours.
