Dad was released from the hospital, fittingly enough, on Father's Day. He has a bunch of appointments, including one with his specialist to talk about how the slow treatment they've been doing for the deep hemorrhoids is not working fast enough, and he should probably have surgery.

The surgeon at the hospital said,
i "You've been admitted to a hospital three times in the past six months, and it's been worse each time. If it was up to me, I'd book you for surgery right now, because there's no guarantee someone will get to you in time for you to survive the next time this happens."

After Dad told me this via text, I texted him to say, "I really REALLY think you should have the surgery. This isn't something to 'wait and see' about". Apparently my freaking out at him was the tipping point to get him to agree; now to wait for him to talk to his specialist.

He's home. He's resting. That's all good.
