 Yesterday, during the drive to the house of my would-be-my-stepsister-if-Dad-and-ladylove-ever-married, the Stroppy One looked over at me fidgeting with my layers of necklaces and asked why I was so stressed. I said I didn't know, I just was, and it was ridiculous because we'd done the holiday thing with that side of the pseudo-family before. After a few seconds, the Stroppy One said, "Probably because this will be the first time you see your Dad after he was in the hospital". My spouse is smart.

Thanksgiving was lovely. Dad is healthy and his usual smartass self, his ladylove was chipper and bright-eyed, and the pseudo-family were friendly as always. Well worth the 90 minute drive to get there.

One of the women there was wearing an amazing pair of pointy-toed black boots covered in rhinestones, which I coveted immediately. She said she got them from Amazon. 10 minutes later I decided that they were fabulous enough to break my only leather footwear rule and discovered that not only were they a Black Friday item, but they CAME IN FUCHSIA. I am a target market.

I had already taken advantage of the Black Friday sale for Pat McGrath cosmetics, because lipsticks are half off at $12 and "McMenamy" is the closest dupe for OG Chanel Vamp I've ever found. Other than that, I am trying to avoid clicking the various Black Friday sales emails, because it's not like I need more clothes or makeup. Well, except for taking advantage of the sale over at Rituel de Fille, but I'm doing that because a friend gave me a gift card for them.

Fortunately they have a 2.5" heel and I can't wear anything a hair over 2". Phew, safe from sparky boots!

I have to admit to relief that those boots don't come in a rich purple, because that would be awfully hard to resist!

I took advantage of a Black Friday deal from Apatico, a local business, for a black leather harness. The only thing that's even a little surprising about that is that I didn't already have one.
