I realize that high heels are not a good choice for me. Even if said high heels are not stillettos, but are almost wedges. Because 4" wedge heels with a 1" platform at the front still would probably cause me to teeter alarmingly, and make my feet hurt.

Does this stop me from coveting The Grand National Corset Boot from Fluevog? No it does not. Cloven-hoof heel! OMG, want want want.

[livejournal.com profile] starkeymonster thinks I should go try them on, and see how they feel. I think that way lies madness. But gosh, they're gorgeous boots.

You know as well as I that the only think you'll get from trying them on is a concussion, twisted ankle or another similar injury.

Trust me people, Jilli + Heels does not go.

But they're SO COOOOOL!!

I know, I know. You're probably right.

They are rather nummy ... I am sadly restricted to 1 1/2" heels regardless of the stability platform bases ... so I shall avoid the madness as well *swoon*

I have a pair of Grandnationals (http://www.fluevog.com/code/?session=1159381-XPi0z5BDjplkPBA7F353EK3jfx6UcxvT&view=detail&page=2&listpage=1&itemtype=&colourID=1158&w[0]=family%3AGrand%20Nationals) and they are very tiring on the legs and feet. I wear heals all the damn time and GNs tax me. They are very different than normal heals. They throw your center of blance forward and you are basically walking on the balls of your feet.
If you can't handle the most simple of heels I would steer you away from the GrandNational. They are about a 5 inch heel that feels like an extream 6 to me and I have big feet (sz 10).

Thank you. That is *exactly* the sort of thing I needed to know.

I guess I'll just admire them on other people.

No problem, I would hate to see you spend $300 on a pair of boots and not be able to wear them outside of the bedroom.

They are great boots I love them but I can't wear them unless I plan on sitting down for half of the night.

If you have the same size feet that I do you are more than welcome to try mine on if you are ever over my place.

One of the salesclerks at the Fluevog store said a customer referred to them as "the most expensive ear warmers she had bought." but they're sooo pretty...

Those are not Walking Around Boots. Those are "Other Activity" Boots. Trust me, even I wouldn't be comfy in those, and I wear 3" heels every day.

Let me put this as delicately as possible: ponygirl boots. I'm thinking that's why they're called "Grand Nationals."

Do you still want them? ;-)

Man, I'd pay money to have seen Jilli's squinchy face when she read that!

*chortle*

With no offense intended to you or the lovely Ms. S, I think those are hideous. Even as fetishy things (and I've a bit of fetish in the shoe realm), they are not attractive to me at all.

And previous comments have covered every reason I'd have given you for why you don't want them.

re-written and re-posted because I committed one of my own personal pet grammar peeves. 30 lashes with the red pencil for me.

But I looooove them!! *sniffle*

I'd buy 'em in a heartbeat if I were, er, employed. And if they were about $100 cheaper. But then again, I have lots and lots of Impractical Shoes, and they still get plenty of wear . . . I just wish my *husband* had a shoe fetish, he could care less, *wah!*

I definitely think they're a bad idea if you're not normally comfortable in heels, though.

It's a good thing I don't like wedge heels, which I've seen on lots of Fluevog shoes. That would be yet another pair of shoes to pine for.
