 The Stroppy One and I leave for the UK on Monday. (Did I mention we're going to the UK?) Anyhoodle, the first part of my trip is for a work conference, and then I'm heading to Edinburgh to visit friends, while the Stroppy One heads to Wales to visit friends. (Our trips were planned at different times, otherwise he'd be off to Scotland with me.) Then we meet back up, spend a few more days in England, and then I get on a plane to head home, and he gets on a different plane to head to Germany for an event. 

In packing for the trip, I'm trying a different thing. I'm there for 10 days. I'm bringing 5 dresses, three skirts, and multiple accessories (jabots, skirt clips, belts) to combine to make different outfits. I'm pretty confident about it, but I need to do a test run of one of the dresses shortened via dress clips. I also had the possibly brilliant idea that I can use sets of rare earth magnets (which are sold as "no pin scarf clips"!) to use to fold up/shorten the skirts. I'll report back on how successful this idea is.

Hello! I haven't been to Slimelight proper in ages, though I was at the venue last year for a goth festival and it is weirdly clean now. It's nice, but a bit disconcerting. I hope you have fun places to go to stomp around :)

Just using them as underskirts. I'm bringing two sleeveless blouses in case I want to wear the stretch velvet dress that is my traveling outfit. The blouses work well under the dress.

There's a chance we will be in Edinburgh at the same time. I just left there to come to Aberdeen, and after a week more of road tripping to the Isle of Skye and back, I'll be back in Edinburgh next Saturday to meet up with a friend. I'd love to know your favorite things about the city!

I am vaguely jealous that you are going to the UK, as I've wanted to go there for ages. I have friends there whom I haven't seen in ages, but still keep in contact with. I hope you have a wonderful time and that the weather is appropriately goth. :)
