I'm looking for a BIG sparkly crystal pin or brooch, in red. When I say BIG, I mean something at least 2 inches across, and preferably larger. And, of course, in a Victorian style.

I need it before Friday. Oh, and I'd like it to cost under $20 (yeah, I know. Stop looking at me like that.)

Anyone have any suggestions where I might find something like that in Seattle? (I'd rather not order on-line for this, as shipping doesn't always happen as quickly as I need, and The Husband has asked me not to purchase jewelry on-line, since images on the web don't always give a truthful representation of the item.)

So. BIG, red, sparkly, quasi-Victorian pin or brooch. Where?

Okay, this sounds weird, but try Chico's. They have enormous brooches in various sparkly colors, and some of them made me think of you. When theyre on sale, they're under $20; otherwise in the $30 range.

I was at Claire's downtown about a week ago looking at brooches. I was looking for smaller ones, but noticed that they have some *HUGE* ones that just came in.

It's a shame it has to be big, because I would lend you my lovely Victorian garnet brooch--at just over an inch across.

I second Claire's. Might also want to try Fred Meyers and Target...I seem to recall something like that at those places.

Bon-Macy's. I was just there last week and they had tons of brooches. Not sure if they have exactly what you're looking for, but it's worth a peek.

That's what I was going to say. I was agape in front of the display. With the near Star Trek uniform quality of current dress (black pants or skirt often worn with boots with solid colored shirt or sweater), I was puzzled as to what main stream fashion these were intended to be worn with.

Fred Meyer, even Bartell's. I've seen the darnedest things there recently.

The easily overlooked Goodwill on 4th Ave S. I've had good luck there in the past.

If you were home during the day I would say that little rose thrift shop on 85th. Since you *aren't*, I am going to suggest perhaps going to one of the millions of antique shops in our neighborhood or that little hair place that sells jewelry in the window.

and have you gone to elana at Northgate yet?

what SORT of pin are you looking for. Size is pretty generic, is there a STYLE or SHAPE you would prefer? I can sift through my jewelry stock.

AND, in the event of an emergency, we can go and bloody well buy the parts and I can *MAKE* you one. :P
