 - Beading continues for my VMB outfit. I finally realized that instead of sewing the appliques on the jacket and THEN beading them, I could whipstitch the appliques onto tulle stretched in an embroidery hoop, bead them, and cut them out for application to all the clothes. Yes, I know, more experienced crafters probably already knew this. But! This makes the whole project more portable, so I can take it to social events. It also means that I can relax in the recliner and do this, instead of having Miss Lucinda the dress form directly in front of me.

- Today we meet with our realtor and a notary to SIGN THE PAPERWORK FOR SELLING THE OLD HOUSE!!! We're selling straight to a developer, it didn't go on the market. Could we possibly have gotten more if we'd put it on the market? Maybe, maybe not, but the Stroppy One and I agreed that taking the (potential) drop in price was worth it to just get the damn thing out of our life. The money from the sale is going straight to the mortgage on the new house, no surprise.

- Today I also go meet with one of the trainers at the super-small class size & personal training gym that's about 5 blocks from us. I am braced for 1) a mildly terrifying price quote, and 2) probably being told that this will involve mornings. I'm also braced for them not taking insurance, but I'm hoping they'll give me receipts that I can submit to insurance on my own. 

- A weird work thing: Every month I run the release notes review meeting, giving all of our Customer Success folks an advance screening of what's going out that month and a chance to ask project managers pointed questions about "what does this mean?". EVERY Customer Success person I've ever talked to has said the release notes meeting is their favorite, and I'm so helpful and energetic. Which is nice, but wow, the fact that they have a favorite meeting is ... well, I hope they have other fun non-work things to do.

-I resorted to AliExpress to get a white lacy blouse for my VMB outfit. I found the type of blouse I wanted on Amazon, looked at the price, and said "Oh come on, it's got to be out there for less". Ta-da, AliExpress had the exact same one, in a better size range, for about 80% less. It arrived this weekend, and it is exactly what I wanted.

- I got a royalty check for the Gothic Charm School book! Not a whole lot, but the fact that I'm still getting royalties 12 years after it was published is a big deal to me. (12 years omg.)

I am unsurprised that the meeting you run is everyone's favorite. You are meticulous, diligent, thoughtful, intelligent, and actually listen to people rather than just letting them talk at you.

HUrrah for finding it cheaper. and ooo AliExpress is a dangerous place.

I am unsurprised you are still getting royalty checks. How many languages is it translated into now?

I default to checking AliExpress after finding something I like on Amazon. The hard part is finding it in a large enough size, and I don't know where Amazon finds their XXLs when AliExpress isn't selling them.

I wonder sometimes how much I might have gotten for my parents' house if I hadn't sold it to a developer, but then I think about trying to manage a regular sale long-distance after the stress that house had already caused me, and I'm good with my decision. I expect you will continue to be as well.
