I realized I've dodged being all meh and sad about not feeling holiday spirit (an annual tradition for the past decade). I don't recommend the method I'm using, which is non-stop stress about packing and moving, but it's working for me.

I'm taking Dec. 19 through Jan. 3rd off from work for unpacking at the new place. And sleeping. And hopefully feeling my stress levels drop.

---

The Madwoman in the Attic has been moved over to the new place! And because there was enough room in the U-Haul truck, the vast majority of our boxes went over, too! I mean, there's still a lot of stuff to pack, but I can definitely see how much we've done.

ALL of my clothes, except for what I might need for the next few weeks, have been packed and taken to the new place. And my shoes & boots. And my books. I feel very weird about this.

You can continue to be hag-ridden about not feeling the xtian "holiday spirit" or you can lean Hindi and enjoy Diwali and its candles which generally leads up to Halloween and then completely ignore the plastic capitalism of the modern Western winter season!

Glad the move's going well. And taking time off to unpack and settle in is definitely a good idea.

Oh, good! You won't be tempted to commit!

And you know, I don't think anybody's obligated to feel any holiday spirit, ever. I intend to spend mine shaking my booty.
