(Thank you, MCR, for an appropriate lyric.)

Other than the ancestry.com DNA test and two refill eyeshadows, I didn't buy anything on Black Friday/Cyber Monday/whatever the retail frenzy hellscape does that weekend.

HOWEVER. Uggggh, I want the dopamine hit of buying a shiny object. I want a new dress or jacket. (I do not need a new dress or jacket.) I want more jewelry. (I don't really need more jewelry.) I want the time and energy to go do something fun and give me a reason to dress up in real clothes (not layers of leggings and tunics and shawls), wear a fancy hat, pile on the jewelry.

I keep opening tabs, adding things to my cart, and then closing those tabs. This counts as a victory, right?

(I will probably eventually buy this dress or this dress from Recollections, but not for a while.)

I WANT A SHINY THING. I DON'T NEED A SHINY THING. I AM GOING TO SULK.

It's the time of year, I think. The retail fever is strong right now. I'm dying to buy something, just about ANYTHING (that isn't practical, that is). A piece of clothing, a piece of jewelry, fabric, whatever. I'm not even concerned if it's new or from the thrift store! (in fact, I feel far less guilty when it's from the thrift store).

Ooooh, those dresses!

On a related note, do you have a post somewhere that collects all the places you shop? You always have links to the prettiest dresses.

I can relate to pretty much all of this. What's limiting my going out is a) money and b) being cold.

Does ordering one more sex toy prototype count as buying a shiny thing? Hey, it was $80 including shipping.

Such pretty dresses! Very shiny indeed! ...IMO not buying anything DOES count as a victory. ^_^
