(Bandom lyrics for the win! Remember folks, Pete Wentz is not an emotional role model!)

While I'm having fun watching the downfall of Twitter - the shitposting going on is magnificent - I'm also really sad about it, because I found a great community of fannibals there and everyone is going to scatter to the winds.

I'm over on Mastodon, but it's not the same, not everyone is going to go (back) to Tumblr because of the porn ban, and while I desperately want everyone to come over here, I know that long-form blogging isn't how fandom works anymore.

Work is busy (ahahahaaha understatement) but good. I am evilly looking forward to budget conversations with the director of our largest software pillar: "I understand that you feel you don't need any additional writers. Here is the list of writing work projected for next year; please help me determine what 40% to cut from that list." Out of all the weirdness of being a manager, that's the part I really like; being polite and earnestly helpful while I point out how badly someone planned. Because at heart, I am kinda mean.

I could never get into twitter really. it was far too snippy and snipey for me.

Hooray for being able to rub someone's nose in the bad choices they have made, particularly because they have caused you so much stress otherwise.

It is mean & petty of me - but I agree with you 100%.

I too wish blogging would come back. Goddamn Russians breaking LJ and then forcing that legal-babble-nonsense about how they now own all of your content onto the few Westerners is what pushed so many people to Failbuch and I resent/regret it.

Nothing like smiling sweetly while pointing out some stone-in-my-shoe fuckwits mistakes. That always makes me so happy.

Seconding this question.

I reset my passwords here and on Mastodon, as I anticipate the imminent implosion of Twitter.

I never went the Twitter way, but watching it implode from a distance definitely has entertainment value. It couldn't happen to a more appropriate arrogant arsehole than Musk.

Well, long-form blogging is still how fandom works for those people who still use it :-)

Telling the truth in a business context isn't mean. In fact, I'd say it's part of what everyone is should be paid to do.
