The left side of my neck and my left shoulder have been very very tight and painful recently, for some reason I haven't figured out yet. (Note To Self: call the dratted chiropractor and book an appointment!) Today, to hopefully stave off the sudden shooting pains and aches that I suffered yesterday, I had [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage put a ThermaCare patch in between my shoulders, right below my neck. After a few hours at work, I realized that wasn't where I needed the patch to be.

Unfortunately, re-positioning the patch involved removing my hat, two different pieces of jewelry, a knee-length jacket with lots of buttons, and a high-collared faux-Victorian blouse (with lots of buttons). Then trying to reach something stuck in between my shoulder blades so I could place it somewhere else, and then put my blouse, jacket, cameo brooch, jet necklace, and hat back on. All of this took place in a stall in the women's restroom at work, which is never an ideal place for large-scale wardrobe adjustment.

My shoulder and neck are now starting to loosen up and feel less painful. Of course, I don't know if that's because of the re-positioning of the ThermaCare patch, or because all the twisting and turning I did to move it stretched something that needed stretching.

In happier news, I'm going to the Vogue tonight, for the first time in what seems like months. Some of you should go to the Vogue tonight, too.

I would, but...

...tomorrow is the 5am wakeup for a 4-hour shift.

No staying up past 9, or alex has not enough sleep to talk on the phones.

Re: I would, but...

Completely understandable. Hopefully I'll see you out next week.

Last week during those really cold nights, I fell asleep so hard that I didnt have my entire left shoulder covered with a blanket. When I woke up, my shoulder was ice cold, and was EXTREMELY stiff and sore. I could barely move it. After hot showers and deep heating lotions, it got a little better, but was still sore for a few days.

Maybe something similar happened, but I do know that the more heat and slight movement I did, the better the shoulder got.
