All about clothes, and pink & black ones at that.

Having woken up feeling growly and cranky, I decided to wear clothes that would cheer myself up this morning.

• Black pointy-toe flats w/ zippers across the toes


• Black tights


• Ankle-length flared black velvet skirt with 4 rows of pale pink lace and ruffled trim at the hem


• Pale pink faux-Victorian ruffly, high-collared blouse with an antique jet pin on the collar


• Black stretchy bat-wing hem jacket


• Pink super-fluffy angora stole (which I got in the mail last night), pinned with another antique jet brooch*


• No hat today, as imflying was a darling and colored my hair and trimmed my bangs last night


• ... And the usual makeup: a light dusting of Aromaleigh powder foundation, pale pale pink shimmery eye shadow, black liquid liner & black mascara, and Vamp lipstick

I still feel somewhat growly and cranky (my personal email keeps randomly timing out on me, I can't sign in to Messenger, and I may start growling the next time a certain writer walks into the office to be a well-intentioned and bumbling control freak), but at least my outfit makes me happy.




*Yes, this makes two different pink fluffy stoles I now own. I didn't realize the one I just got was angora until it turned up in the mail, but Clovis has assured me that it was made from traitors to the Evil Bunny Alliance, so it's okay. I still need to find a somewhat smaller pink fluffy stole, and I'm still tempted by the pink faux-fur muff. Never mind that I have two antique fur muffs, I still kinda-sorta want a pink one, too. (alexiarnps, stop rolling your eyes. They'll get stuck.)

While "shallow fashion details" are fun to visualize, pictures would be great. You often use terms I'm not all that familiar with.

The nice thing about reproduction muffs is you don't have to worry about damage and accidentally leaving it behind. Thought of you at the folding parasol booth with matching handbags. (http://dragonflydesignstudio.com/LJimages/capls05.jpg) The parasol fits in to loops on the bag. I don't plan to carry the bags just the parasols. Waiting to hear back on price points.

I'm so torn about that one; on the one hand, ooh! Pink! Extra-fuzzy! On the other hand, it's fox fur, and I try not to own things made from real fur unless it's a vintage or antique item.

But I still keep looking at auctions like that one ... Pink! Extra-fuzzy!

Thrift stores. Lots of patient searching in thrift stores. Which is where most of my Victorian-style blouses come from. :-)
