- Whatever this bug I caught is, it's still lingering. I started to feel better, then foolishly did things on Christmas like Prepare A Meal (roast pork w/ sweet potatoes, a very simple all-in-one-dish thing!) with help from the Stroppy One. That wiped out my energy reserves for the following two days. I am now trying to be extra careful about doing things, but I am Very Annoyed by this.
- Our Christmas was very low-key, no surprise. The Stroppy One is impossible to shop for. He's finicky about things, he doesn't have any real hobbies besides some specific video games, and he's not a voracious reader. He's told me time and time again that he is FINE with not having a present, that it's my own persistent Brain Raccoons that make my not having a present for him the end of the world. So this year I wrote him a very heartfelt letter. And cried while he read it. (He said it was better than any thing I could have bought him, awww.)
- His present to me was a quick sketch to let me know that the present was ordered and would arrive ... later. Because Bloodmilk Jewels launched a necklace that combines Catholic imagery (mmmm, aesthetic) with the 8 of Swords, the tarot card that is the recurring theme of my life. (Enough so that I got the basic message of "get out of your own way" inked on me.)
Yeah, he knows my tastes. (Yes, I had sent him the link a while ago, but I didn't think he'd actually get it for me.)
- Snow! Freezing temperatures! WTF! Good thing we didn't have any plans to go anywhere anyway.
