Someone from my long-ago Tragic Vampire LARPing Past passed away recently. He was a good guy, and I have fond memories of him. But this means a whole bunch of folks from my TVLP are scanning posting photos to FB. Which, yay, photos of our pasts! Buuuuut one of the people doing this this most is an ex of mine who I don't exactly have fond memories of. He wasn't The Worst ex, but he was not great, either. (I am FB "friends" with him because of my weird semi-celebrity status, so there are very few people I don't accept friends requests from.)
In the course of these FB posts, he offered to scan a bunch of photos from when we were together and put them in a google drive folder for me. I said yes, because again, photos from my past! I just ... didn't particularly want "couple-y" photos of us together, but oh well.
All that said: behold early 90s snoozy Jilli, guarded by the dearly departed Dread Beastie.

The process of trying to recover old photos is incredibly fraught! I wish I had understood, the first time I got a digital camera and stopped making photo albums from rolls of film, that I would not have to put more effort into preserving photos, not less. I basically lost everything from high school, including photos of a friend who ended up dying young and I now have very few images of at all. At least images that are pre-digital exist somewhere, even if they're hard to get at!
