This past week was stressful as hell. In addition to ongoing poor sleep, the bi-weekly chaotic circus that is release notes for my feature because even MORE chaotic because of some process "improvements" we were trying out. They were not improvements. The bright side is that the upper management chain was already on high alert because of previous release notes issues (none of which are related to my responsibilities with them), so there may be real process improvements coming. But my G-D, this week was terrible.
Therefore, when I piteously texted Min mid-week and asked "What are you doing this weekend? I NEED TO FLEE MY HOUSE", she said she had free time, so we spent Saturday going north and hitting thrift stores. She didn't find anything she wanted, but oh, did I come away with some stuff.

- About 7 yards of dusty pink with PINK SPARKLES stretch velvet. The good stuff that's 4-way stretch.
- A silver metal and black bead dress clip that is straight from the 80s.
- A vintage wooden jewelry box with drawers, which is something I've been idly searching for online.
- 10 vintage white or pink handmade handkerchiefs.
- A stack of intertwined silver bangles.
- A necklace of faceted rose quartz and clear crystal beads, to be dismantled for another project.
- Two vintage gothic romances, complete with cover art of women with great hair and flowing nightgowns fleeing from ominous houses.
- Two V.C. Andrews paperbacks (Seeds of Yesterday and Garden of Shadows) with the OG keyhole step-back covers!! (However, I would trade all of my vintage V.C. Andrews paperbacks for one copy of My Sweet Audrina with that style of cover.)

Someday, my Halloween costume is going to be "heroine of a gothic romance cover."

yes, me too.
and WOW that's an impressive haul!! I am slowly turning dor to the thrift side but she has a sort of ptsd reaction to clothing shopping as her mother hated it and so it was NEVER fun for her (plus big girl clothing shopping her whole life, which is always kinda rough at the best of times).
