Thursday night we went out for food for the first time in 15 months. Sushi! OM NOM NOM SUSHI at our favorite place, Moshi Moshi in Ballard. Yes, let me eat raw fish, tempura avocado, and have a tasty Adult Beverage. It was glorious.

So as I'm sure many of you know, the PNW is having a heat wave over the weekend. The PNW, which generally doesn't have AC and also doesn't have the infrastructure in place to deal with super-high temperatures. The projected high for Monday is 108.
On Saturday we're visiting friends who actually do have a heat pump and central air. What is our household going to do for Sunday and Monday? Who knows. Drink water, make sure we're getting extra electrolytes, and cover ourselves with ice packs.
This is going to SUCK.

The personally crappy parts of this:
- Dad and his ladylove were going to come visit on Sunday, but we've all agreed that we should postpone.
- High temps are a massive migraine trigger for me. I'm going to do everything preventative that I can, but I've already warned my co-workers that there's a chance I may be out sick on Monday.
This is going to SUCK.

If it gets super bad I will be hanging out in a less than tepid bath to which I add more cool as it warms up. This is how I spent summers growing up. Like.... nearly all summer, ever summer. rubbing the kitties with the cool water as they came to visit me. But at least I have those skills now. (For those unaware, putting someone dangerously hot into ICE COLD environs can cause the person to go into shock; its best to do cool water that you bring down in temp slowly than straight into the ice.)

39C is the forecast for Greater Vancouver, which isn't a lot better.

Downgraded from 108 to 105 and right now we are at 106. Ugh.
