•  Lying down and repeatedly engaging my core muscles should not be that taxing, good G-D.
  • Adding specific leg movements to that is not only taxing, but hard to keep track of.
  • Look nice lady, I know this is important and good for me, but I am a simple vampire and can't do all this AND count repetitions.

Losing count and starting over makes me very cranky. I count on my fingers to keep track. Reciting song lyrics for each rep gets me through it some days. Got in to a Princess Bride quote battle with my PT. Have no idea how many ham string stretches I did on the machine. :o P

folding my fingers is the ONLY way I can keep track of horrible things like leg lifts. Each 5 is a folded finger on my other hand, like an abacus.

You can do it! Drain those reps of their essence! Or something.

I have spent many quality hours exercising in various ways. I still count out loud because it's the only way I don't lose track.

I also modify my counts if the exercise is too many steps. So, an exercise where a movement on each side together counts as one, such as a plank where I have to pick up first left then right hand for one, I will count two. Instead of counting to 15 I end up counting to 30, but I'm less likely to lose track, since I am counting every time I move.

I count out loud too, for the same reason (I also count out loud for cups of flour when making bread in the breadmachine).

I am grateful that my PT exercises are not that complicated! Yikes.
