I watched Hamilton today. That was a beautifully staged show, a really clever idea, and the performances were great*. I just wish it had grabbed me the way it did a lot of people.

I mean that sincerely. The whole thing works beautifully, but the songs just kinda slid right off my brain, and I'm not sure why. I'm very glad I watched it, but I don't think I'll end up watching it again. But I'm really happy that Hamilton fans have this chance to see the original cast.

* However, while Lin Manuel Miranda is extremely charismatic, he had the weakest voice of the entire cast, which is a shame.

I am looking forward to watching it sometime this weekend.

This is a common problem with recent musicals for me too.

I still have not seen it. I heard snatches of a few songs, but they did not stick with me. I'm sure Sean will sit me down with it at one point or another, but it's not a high priority.
I'm pretty sure this is because I just have not really done musicals.

Having seen Miranda as Bert in Marry Poppins I knew singing was not his strength. Thank goodness singing is not the best thing he brings to the table.

I listened to the soundtrack a little while ago and it just left me kind of 'meh.' Mainly because I'm not a big fan of hip hop. And, honestly, none of the songs stuck with me either.
