Soooo, around 5 years ago, a bunch of friends got together and got me a LE doll from Wilde Imagination, because the face sculpt on her looked ... eerily like me. And had my hairstyle, pointy bangs and all. (This is when I had black hair with pink streaks.)

Mini Jilli doll

I'd been idly wondering how to change her hair - for once in their dratted production, Tonner/Wilde Imagination didn't make a doll with a wig, but with actual rooted hair, which I don't want to cut off. But! I realized I had a pale pink (with bangs) doll wig that I bought ages ago online, and it's too big for my dolls. I then headed deep into cosplay blog land, and discovered that my hunch was right; not only can you sew additional hair wefts to a doll wig, but they can be dyed with Copic marker ink. Y'know, like how I dyed all of the lace appliques for my VMB dress.

And if I bundle up all of Mini Jilli's hair under a doll wig cap, that will solve the fit problem of the soon-to-be customized wig!

EDIT: Dammit, no, the pink wig is too small for her. And oh no, not only have I found the doll making wig tutorials, but I have all the supplies I need in the right colors. Pray for me.

I feel like the doll makers should have paid you for inspiring their doll design ;-)

I have a BJD and so does Gwen. We’ve been talking about having a day to get together and make dolly stuff.

Pray for me.

I don't do supernatural, so I guess you're doomed.

What do you want to do to her hair? I might be able to help - maybe you can just re-style it? I'm giving a Monster High doll some ringlets today.
