I prefer baths to showers. Soaking in a tub of warm water while reading a book? Heaven to me. I love bath things: bath bombs, bath melts, bath salts, and so on. I was a LUSH cosmetics fiend.

I say was, because I don't take baths at home that much any more. I used to take a bath every night. And then one night I saw a big black thing floating in the tub with me, squinted, and then launched myself out of the tub, screaming. As I stood in the corner of the bathroom, stark naked and dripping, the Stroppy One ran in, looked in the tub, and said "Oh shit". One of the largest spiders ever seen in our house (and that's saying something), in the tub with me. 5 years on, and I still can't completely relax in our tub.

But! One of the naked lady spas opened about 4 years ago, and it is 3 blocks from our house. Because the steam sauna and pools help my migraines and chronic pain issues, I buy an annual membership, and go at least 3 times a week. At this point, when someone new is being trained, they point me out: "This is Jillian, she's an annual member, her using a Kindle is fine because it doesn't have a camera, and the warm pool is essentially her living room". :D

Soooooo, what happens if there's a spider in your shower? Never bathe again?

There was a camel cricket in the shower with me once. It started hopping all over the place, bouncing off the walls, the floor, etc. It was a long time before I got in that shower again, lol.

I did not know that about the spa near your place! And here I thought you'd been traveling a long way fairly often.

Was the spider you mentioned GG LATS?

*may be whimpering forever* NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

The spa sounds marvelous, though. *_*

I LOVE baths. Showers are things to be taken under obligation when there are no other options, but baths are a luxury. Soaking with a book is a delight. No bath bombs or any such, I have sensitive skin and I avoid putting anything on it with carefully selected exceptions. But I have an extra large air jet bathtub and it is a delight. Awesome for muscle aches, back pain, just soak everything away. Occasionally with an added glass of wine :-)

Oh baths are so lovely - when we remodeled the horrific 'baths' in the lower level of our house (there were 2 illegal apartments) we splurged on a 72 inch long by 24 inch whirlpool tub and it is heaven.

but there are times I wish we had a spa close by so I could go and use other amenities such as a steam room and dry sauna. yes there is one at my gym, but it isn't the same as there is no tub to soak in :(
