Let me tell you, [personal profile] kore has an EXCELLENT post that you should read about posting on DW:

WHAT I KEEP SEEING ABOUT TUMBLR V DREAMWIDTH, OVER AND OVER

On Dreamwidth I do feel like I actually have to have something to say.

And I'm just like, WHY? WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU THINK THIS. BASED ON WHAT. WHERE IS THIS BEAUTIFUL MYTHICAL BRIGADREAMWIDTH WHERE EVERYONE IS WITTY AND WRITES AT JUST THE RIGHT LENGTH AND THERE ARE NO RAGING VENTS OR SHITPOSTS OR INARTICULATE FLAILS OF SQUEE OR ALLCAPS COMMS OR COMMENTS WARS OR SILLY MEMES OR QUIZZES....or, wait, that doesn't sound like a very fun place, does it. Where is it? I don't want to go there. I like it right here. Where there are all these things! And more! Hell, I didn't learn about GIP posts via Tumblr. You are not chiseling your life's work into granite! IT'S A BLOG.

Bring on the inarticulate squee! BRING ON ALLCAPS!!! (HI, I REALLY LIKE ALLCAPS, AND I'VE HAD TO RESTRAIN MYSELF FROM USING THEM CONSTANTLY IN ACTUAL GOTHIC CHARM SCHOOL POSTS.)

So anyway, go forth and post burbling. Please. POST MORE 2K19.

"What you have to say, is what you have to say. Say it all. Whatever it is. That's what any blogging platform is for."

HECK YEAH.

I support this entirely even though my own blog is ssssseriousssss about 98% of the time. It's still a BLOG. It is a container for content of no specific kind except that I put it in there. It's here because I can limit who can find and read it AND because it is totally uncensored and unregulated AND because there are no ads stuck all around it AND because it can be whatever I want. I hope DW catches on for those who are feeling surveilled/censored by Tumblr & elsewhere, & that people make the most of this resource, & burble at will!

Thank you for sharing/making this post; I was thinking about the same topic off and on the last week. I never did join LiveJournal back in its heyday, but I remember lurking on fanfiction authors' blogs there that were everything from "here are links to my stories", to single-sentenced entries.
