Hee hee hee ...

I just had a short conversation with one of my new co-workers about Tim Burton, Edward Gorey, and other goth-fave artists. He asked me if I liked them, and I said "Oh yes. I'm a big walking gothy cliché". He started to explain how the goth scene started in his generation; he's 33 and it all started in the '80s ...

I laughed and told him I was actually older than him. He proclaimed I was not, I couldn't be, I looked so young! I said, "No, no, I'm 36." See, shunning daylight for years takes a decade off your age!

Faith and the Muse last night was fantastic. Because I am a complete and frothing FatM fan girl, I bought one of the cards that Monica Richards did the art for, then respectfully asked her and William Faith to autograph it. I chatted with Monica a bit about her stage costumes, and how I've been following their career for years and years. She gave me a hug and said thank you. (ieeeeeee! Monica Richards gave me a hug! squeeeeeeeee!)

Of course, even though I got more sleep than some of my friends who went to the show last night, I am sleeeeeeeeepy. Must not fall face-first onto keyboard ...

I asked her that! Nope, she wasn't wearing the Kambriel one because that overdress is velvet and has a train, so she didn't want to worry about it getting wet or dragging through puddles. What she was wearing last night was made by Sweet ... Sweetblood? SweetStar? argh! I've completely spaced on the name.

Who made the corset you were wearing last night? I know you said in one of your posts, but now I can't remember.

Thank you (and Thomas!) again for the lift home last night!

Oh no prob, feel free to ask us for rides when you see us out!

My corset was made by darkwear.com, specifically by [livejournal.com profile] mistressnatasha. I think she's only taking local comissions (LA) right now so she can do fittings, though, but you could always ask. I am really impressed with the cinch I could get and how comfortable it was.

Was that you in the striped corset? I was admiring it but never managed to actually say hi. And I should have--I've seen you online enough that I feel like I really ought to introduce myself.

Yes, that was me! I <3 that corset. :) Anyhoo, do introduce yourself next time!

Ya know, come to think of it that's why I didn't wear my Jeannie Nitro velvet dress with the little train. I was all set to, and then well...typical weather. heh

Endless Knot on 1st and.... Blanchard? has some similar styles to that overdress in their collection as well, if you want something somewhat similar, but locally available.

Was it just me, or did she change "All Loves Lost" in mid-song with completely new verses?

Hmmm. I didn't think she added new verses, but I was mostly marveling at her voice so I might not have caught them.

I thought about going but I have just been too busy with packing and moving. I haven't seen them since '96 in Minneapolis.

Btw, I saw the Jack Skellington walking stick at Hot Topic today (actually, it was at a little cart in the mall with ALL NMB4X stuff!), & it looked pretty cheap & ugly in person. Not meant for you, IMO. However, there were a jillion other very cool NMB4X items that were incredibly drooly. I had to hold myself back ;-)

Yeah, I told her it would look cheap but her hind-brain is all about the "Must. Have."
