- I'm seriously considering joining the International Gothic Group. "The International Gothic Association unites teachers, scholars, students, artists, writers and performers from around the world who are interested in any aspect of gothic culture: fiction, drama, poetry, art, film, music, architecture, popular culture and technology. It promotes the study and dissemination of information on gothic culture from the mid eighteenth century to the contemporary moment. The only association of its kind, the IGA is the academic centre for people interested in an analysis of the gothic."
Actually there's no question that I should and will join it, I just need to poke at the budget, because a US membership is over $100. - Along those lines, one of my aims this year is to get through my TBR stack(s) of gothic research and analysis books. I'm going to try and make those the focus of my reading time, with books for The Night Library and my vintage gothic romances as my fiction breaks.
- Which means I should probably set myself a weekly night I am "allowed" to read fic, instead of browsing Ao3 every night. :D
- Thanks to an image crossing my Tumblr dash, my (very mild) dilemma of what to wear to the Bauhaus show is solved! Red velvet and ivory lace and ruffles it is!
- SELF YOU DO NOT NEED TO BROWSE FOR MORE RED VELVET JACKETS. OR GOTHIC HEROINE NIGHTGOWNS.
- Where the hell is my hole punch? I need to cut and punch notepaper for my organizer.

(My dream goal about it is that they invite me to one of the conferences.)

I believe most academics don't have to pay their own membership, their universities generally do it. I wish I was in a teaching/instructing capacity because I would totally be requesting payment for this!
