Five? Six? Seven? (I lost track, obviously) attempts later with feedback from the Stroppy One, I have finally settled on an outfit for Vespertine. Which is nothing like any of the outfits I'd originally thought of and was prompted by catching sight of something entirely different while I was hanging up discarded choices, but hey! I now know what I'm wearing, it makes me happy, and most importantly, keeps the Brain Raccoons from trying to reunite for their greatest hit "You're Queen of the Walrus People!"

(I know I'm not. I usually really do know that. But sometimes the Brain Raccoons are LOUD.)

Anyway, I've got the outfit sorted, I wired and hot glued my flower crown together, and I inadvertently stress-tested the NYX "Proof It!" waterproof topcoat for mascara. Tomorrow, bleaching and pinkifying the streaks. If I have time I'll do the rest of goth upkeep for my hair, but if not, I am reassuring myself with the knowledge that 1) my roots will be hidden by my flower crown and hair fall, and 2) event lighting, so it probably won't matter.

I am usually much more on top of prepping for an event. I am a smidge frustrated with myself. But I HAVE THE OUTFIT NOW, so I can handwave pretty much everything else.

(Am I going to spend the rest of tonight soothing myself with rereading vampire AU Hannibal fic? You'd better believe it.)

So, I still have yet to sew up a fairly crucial item.....the Brain Weasels have been singing and tapdancing to a selection of their greatest hits, mostly You’re A Fraud, You Look Loike An Ancient Whale, and, their old favorite, No One Really Likes You.

I really do need to have someone draw them in their kick line.

I am looking forward to seeing you and the outfit you've decided on!! I will be working at the door at Vespertine for a couple of hours. I thought I had decided on a black-and-white jacket to wear, myself, but I think I am going to wear the blue velvet Laura Ashley coat that you spotted in Colorado Springs instead--I just need to figure out what to wear with it!
