I don't know if I've mentioned it here (I'm too lazy to go back and read through previous entries), but since going full-time freelance, I've been working on my organization/time management skills. Keeping calendars with project milestones and deadlines, appointments, notes, all that sort of thing. Writing content schedules for myself is a new and weird idea, but it's working? I've learned the hard way that I have to write this stuff down. I can't rely on using organizational tools on my phone and computer, it's too easy for those reminders to get lost in all the other digital noise going on in my life. Writing - pencil and paper - helps fix things in my memory. And because I am a target market with ~aesthetic concerns~, I've learned that having fancy planners and stickers and notes makes me stick with using them. Yes, I am motivated by elegant spooky stickers.
I have two planners: one large(ish) one that is my detailed, all my notes in one place, weekly to-do lists, plan all the details organizer, and then a purse-sized one to track appointments, travel, shorthand for deadlines, and so on. I cross-reference and update them every other day. FEAR ME.
Oh, and not only did Michael's Halloween collection have dark Victorian floral goth/occult planner stickers and notes, not only is there a thriving elegant goth planner accessories market on Etsy, but Paperblanks (maker of fancy blank books and planners) has released a 2019 planner that has a cover embossed with a replica of Bram Stoker's handwritten preface to Dracula. I AM. A G-DAMN. TARGET MARKET. And I'm okay with that.
