About 5 -7 years ago, I was scouring thrift stores, eBay, etc. for b&w stripy blazers. (Some of you may remember this. Also, it's probably more than 7 years ago, because it all blurs together at this point.) ANYWAY, a few years into that search, they started ... appearing. In mainstream fashion stores. Easily-findable, and dare I say "on trend". It was weird, but it was good! Now I have a stockpile, and I rotate them in and out of my wardrobe.
This whole floral goth thing I've been falling into over the past few years? There are now a whooooole bunch of new large floral print on black background skirts out there. Apparently eShakti has been offering those types of prints as fabric options for their dresses and skirts. Every store I've been to on THREAT LEVEL: PUMPKIN expeditions has had shelves of spooky things adorned with blackened burgundy and fuchsia roses and peonies. Fluevog has released various styles of shoes in floral-printed leather. Dr. Martens has released two different floral patterns.
... WHEN DID I GET THIS POWER, AND HOW DO I GET ALL THESE COMPANIES TO SEND ME THINGS AS MY RIGHTFUL TRIBUTE?!

Referring to my mom, she was given a small box turtle to watch for a friend. [It was dumped on her - one of those 'and here, take care of this' instances.] Dang thing died before 2 days passed. Mom spent 2 weeks asking every pet store in 50 miles if they had box turtles, hoping to replace it. NO box turtles.
Friend comes back - and had forgotten the existence of the turtle. [Apparently said turtle had been dumped on the friend by someone else as she was getting ready for her trip.] Thus no harm, no foul - and possibly an already on-its-last-legs turtle. So no repercussion. But ever since then, most pet shops in her part of California will have box turtles for sale.
